    Oh dear,

Decided I would list some private bits this weekend as I am still clearing my sons bedroom. I went to the council dump first with odds and ends of furniture, then came back and reloaded for the charity shop (mainly bedding, books jigsaw puzzles etc) .

Just gone to photograph the bits left for ebay- and they have gone- it looks like my son when helping loaded them in with the charity shop things. Oh well, I'm sure they will do better with toys than I ever would.

  • never mind soolin, if your son is anything like my daughter, they'll be hidden away in a corner so they don't get thrown/charity/ebayed!

Well, I made the grand sum of £33.09 before fees last weekend :j

Like that old supermarket says, every little helps haha

My cold has finally lifted, managed to get a few new items listed Sunday night, plus all the ones that didn't sell I immediately relisted, so currently have about 50 items listed.

Still no bids on a really collectable item!! This is the 4th or 5th time I've listed it, lots of watchers but zero bids

    Fingers crossed for this time!!
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • I listed about 10 things on ebay over last weekend. I really under-estimated how long it takes (i have listed on ebay before but kind of forgot)! I have 3 massive bags full of clothes but I'm doubtful that many items will get any bids as the clothes are quite old. Of the 10 things I've listed on ebay, 3 items really look like they will go for at least £10 so I'm pretty happy with that. It seems that items have to either be in really good condition (i.e., only worn once)/BNWT or be a one of a kind, vintage piece. I was a bit unprepared for the postage questions to outside UK. I've just decided not to ship to anywhere outside of the UK but think in future I will, as it's more bidders and potentially more competition for prices to go up higher..

Has anyone else got any experience with postage to international countries outside UK? I have seen some sellers excluding certain countries and I wondered why they might do this?

Hi there, I haven't been on recently. I did 2 second chance offers on those jeans but they didn't go so that's why I re-listed them. They've now sold. Today I've posted 7 items of clothing so that's a little bit more space in my blanket box :)

  • This thread has really given me the kick up the bottom I needed to rummage through the mess that is my room (too much stuff not enough storage... well that's my excuse :) ) and put a few things on ebay. It's hard to decide what I'm willing to let go and keep, but I'm trying to be ruthless.

Italy is one a lot of people block as their postal system isn't up to much apparently.
If you're going to send overseas, International signed for is only guaranteed a signature until it leaves the UK. So best not to pay extra for that.
Your clothes that aren't selling too well, it may be worth listing bundles, the p&p will be cheaper for the buyer & you may get more bids that way.

    DON'T FORGET POSTAGE INCREASES
Hopefully everyone saw that, remember the RM increases that come into force on 30th April.
Anyone listing now, could be caught out by the hikes.

    Hi all
I've been hammering eBay a lil bit lately to pay for a couple of breaks away but I've now had the eBay message you must become a business seller as I have listed too much high end clothing aka next and river island??
    Any suggestions
Thanks and wow you guys are so inspirational on your challenge good luck to all xx

I would also say be thorough in your description, take pictures of the item working/etc before you post. 'Asia' has a lot of buyers that will attempt to claim the product isn't as described so a friend told me.

Not sure about "high end clothing" tazmac25, are you listing NWT? Or do you just like shopping there :D
