SO this is the weekend of chaotic-ness. And as I type this I have just remembered that I am supposed to change the lunch thingy tomorrow (note to self MAKE THE CALL)
DH surprised me with turning up for lunch today, as he pointed out I would be unlikely to actually manage anything remotely healthy if left to my own devices. So I had fish and chips ...... still not sure the "healthy" part is being realised here!
Aside from that I had a dreadful night's sleep - hot one minute, cold the next, bunged up and generally BLERGH! Then of course the alarm scared me out of bed.
Doglet is suffering a bit ATM, very unhappy with the concept of leaving the house for "that word beginning with w" - shakes like a leaf if his L-E-A-D is in sight - very sorry state of affairs and I have no idea why!
Now I really have to crack on and achieve something today so hugs to all, hope we all feel better soon, I shall be scaring myself with a weigh in later ........Start info Dec11

Thanks Granny.
Well should have been a lovely weekend, but instead has turned into a bit of a damp squib. So far over the calorie count it is not even funny.
DH went out Fri night, and came back after 3am. Not really a problem as I was being a bit of an insomniac that night.
Sat started well, in fact it was all good until it came to the evening and cooking and a bottle of wine was opened. I managed to burn my arm over a pan of cooking veggies. We toddled off to bed reasonably early but DH had a proper cob on him as soon as the wine was opened. It happens so many times now as soon as any alcohol comes into the equation, he starts with the sarcastic comments and huffing and puffing.
So I get up with Doglet early and spend a few quiet hours on the sofa til all people get up. He decides heis going out Sat night and Sun of Easter weekend, which i had thought we would do something on as it is before both our birthdays and he has not been able tog et the week off. Now he is taking a big chunk of the weekend so we can't go away and do something. I was not happy. He didn't get it.
We go for lunch and DF and I have a bottle of wine. Not usual for a Sunday but hey ..... The raised eye brows and huffing was obvious and frankly uncalled for. He then decided it was unnecessary and uncalled for as he then had to drive our friends back to the station and when I said I would not as I had had a drink he got the breathalyser out and said I could drive if it blew ok. Which I disagree with as I don't drink and drive, ever irrespective of what a measure says.
So he has messed up (as far as I am concerned) a week for us to go away or do something together which I am not happy about and he is being stupid about me having a drink.
This is not the first time he has been disapproving of my having a drink, if there was a reason I would understand it. But as far as I am aware and he has not said anything to the contrary there is no reason. However it is fine for him to drink. But he does not drink much it has to be said
So I am sitting here feeling very confused and hard done by and more than slightly alarmed. I think I just let him get on and have his weekend time away on the understanding we get something sorted for later. As for the drinking I would just like to know WHY he finds it necessary to make sarcastic and rude comments in the first instance.
Tat is all I am off for a trip round the diaries

Hello my dear, so sorry to hear you are having problems with OH. I think a chat is in order to find out if there is some reason why he doesn't want you to drink. Is there something in his past maybe that he hasn't told you about. Did he realise that you wanted to do something with him on Easter weekend? Could he perhaps put his nights out off for another date so you can enjoy the bank holiday together.
Sorry if none of this is any use, as you know I have trouble with my OH too so am probably not the best person to offer advice in relationships.
Big hugs though, hope you are feeling better after your nasty bug

Sorry all, had a bit of a full on and mega week in RL. Not only was conference more than full time (8am to 7pm then dinner straight after and no break!) It was knackering both mentally and physically simply no time to gather thoughts, was CONSTANTLY aware anything I could say or do was being monitored!!!!! Full on does not describe it.
Aside from that I was then plunged into the whole catch up thing as I simply didn't get any time to get the inbox under control.
And a project with a brought forward date of 3 weeks (how in the name of all things good am I supposed to get this rabbit out of that hat is beyond me!)
Plus 2 more projects to add to the pile, and a request for another one - oh start in 3 weeks please .... ahem.
Also then had to deal with the soon to be ex employee who wants be to provided with unpaid leave to start her new job, because they want her to start early, despite the fact she knows she is leaving us after a very expensive training course, which we agreed to only on the grounds she promised to stay in employment with us for longer, and we do have a policy of NO UNPAID LEAVE. So she threatened me with "well I wouldn't like to have to go sick" to which I felt no option but to reply "well I wouldn't like to have to remember this when writing your reference." I think you learn so much about a person when they quit a job. So unprofessional, a contract is a contract and really a bit of honesty would not go amiss.
Then I had to deal with someone whose ideas of remuneration are SO FAR ABOVE PLANET EARTH HE IS ON PLUTO - annual reviews are one thing, but really you have to be able to justify a pay rise these days more than "coz I want to".
Aside from that we have the spectra of redundancy looming over this house again - with DH work (not mine thank goodness although the break would not go amiss right now)
So as of now I am going to take myself off and have a weekend sorting out CV and DH work situation JUST IN CASE.
Then it will be next week and I only have 3 days in the office in which to create a whole heap of stuff which makes sense and in the expected timelines, anyone got a time machine - or cloning machine please?????
Hugs to all

Hello Missrlr, :hello:
Well I finally found your Diary.. First things first: Have a (((hug))) sweetheart - you are absolutely amazing! Just reading about everything you achieve on both home and work fronts makes me wilt; am very impressed.
Some cheap[er] suggestions for increasing security at home:
1. Buy a 'Beware of the Dog' sign and stick it somewhere prominent.
2. Buy some timers so that lights in various rooms go on and off when you're out.
3. Leave the radio on ditto.
4. Talk to the neighbours/in the Local about the new alarm you're having installed, then get a fake blinking box [and maybe fake cctv cameras] to fit on the house.
5. Consider a real cctv system - much cheaper than an alarm - in particular for the back which you consider vulnerable.
6. Neighbourhood Watch?
Hope you're having a restful weekend..0 -
Hugs honey because your life sounds a bit manic and it's not good after you have been so poorly. Hope you manage a little bit of you time this weekend.

he has a breathalyser? i have never know a person to have one.
In France it's now obligatory to carry one in the car.. I know a few people who've got a home breathalyser - one mate got it for her hubby as a joke pressie, and keeps it in the glovebox in a little bag that also contains a £20 note - emergency taxi fare! (The joke is that she likes a drink, but he doesn't).there is something else going on there. So odd. does someone in his family have a problem with alcohol?
..Wondered if he might be thinking baby thoughts?0 -
We both have breathalyser in each car as neither of us can afford to lose our license the morning after, we both had high powered sports cars (still got one) and so early mornings were good for travel, plus we drive in France and Europe a lot where it is obligatory.
If he is thinking of reproducing it won't be with me, not possible.
Thanks for the suggestions Robin, done almost all except the CCTV and so on, so alarm is a reasonable option now. Another break in locally last week too, and the PO done too!
Went to friends for dinner and he pulled the dirty on me, I ended up driving but was ok, still managed to make comments about my drinking and my family being drunks. Asked him about it, he said "it's true" and I pointed out it was far from true especially about me when I drink less than him and to stop it otherwise it would cause a row and it would be permanent.
