I would check out hiring a driver through another company, if it is not too expensive. If you become an employer you will need to do it properly.

I don't normally agree with lending/borrowing with family but it may well be worth discussing the situation with your dad.

He thought it was insured. Re-read the OP.

Then read the link at the top called "etiquette". You're badly in need of education.

he didnt think he was insured, he cancelled the payment authority. and didn't set up a new one, he didnt take ownership of his own need to be insured. probably because he is struggling with payday loans.

after all car insurance is an easy one to miss, nobody else knows your saving money by driving illegally (until the blue lights start flashing), its not like your fancy mobile phone is missing because you've sold it to cover your borrowings.

it is the OP's responsibilty to pay his car insurance.

Dont forget every uninsured driver on the road, costs everyone else driving legally more money.

No insurance is as hateful as drink driving. IMHO

Have you checked with your company if they count not having a full driving licence as a sackable offence? My contract says I must have a full driving licence and if I lose it I'm gone. I do drive a company car and I guess from your posts you maybe take a car allowance?

At a company where I worked a sales manager got a 28 day ban (I'm not sure of timescales as I didn't know him). As far as I know he took a two week holiday and his wife drove him around for 2 weeks so he didn't get sacked although the contract allowed for it. I guess the company thought his wife's vocal displeasure was punishment and deterrant enough!

There is nothing in my contract that states if I lose my driving licence I will be gone but judging by the job I do, if I do not have a car how can I possibly do my job, I am only in the 4th month of my 6 month probation period so I really cannot afford to tell them before I have come up with a solution to the problem, I think the plan I have layed out on my last post may help me out with this problem, for the time been?

This is slightly excessive for no insurance...... If the offence was not driving related (not careless, reckless or dangerous driving), why should you have to take a retest?

Or were you pulled for something else?

If you get 6 points within 2 years of passing your test you lose your licence.

You must tell your insurance company, if you haven't done so already.
Erm, the point is that he hasn't got an insurance company!

Give us all a break - he made a mistake.

And that is not as hateful as drink driving.
  • And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I pay my car insurance in one go even if I have to put it on the credit card.

I read his post as he didn't have insurance in Oct when he got pulled over then.

I assumed that he had insurance between being pulled over and today as he appears to still be doing his job between October and now.
