I agree with what some others have said and maybe get a bike, big expense but if it means you can keep your job/house then it may be well worth it in long run. Either get a top box as shown or maybe a ruck sack and also some decent waterproofs.
You might find when you do get back on road insurance will jump up a hell of a lot though, still its a price worth paying if it means you still in work
Quite right I will pay what it takes to stay in work, I would hate to be out of work at the minute with the current economics like it is.0 -
Didnt hastings contact you when insurance was going to be cancelled?
They said they did and gave me the dates of when I was ment to have recieved the letters they sent out but I recieved no letters, they said they rang me but with me working nights at the time, I was at sleep the majority of the day. I have took responsibility because I was told to cancel my DD and it was my fault I did not re-set my DD for Hastings but I still feel annoyed that they stopped my insurance without helping me trace the letters they sent out. We also have three house numbers the same in our street for some strange reason and I reckon they may have gone there but how can I prove it if that had happened. With me also sorting out my other debt issues and working nights at the time I just accepted the cancelation and the caution from the police and got new insurance. If for one minute I knew it would of lead to this I would have took things alot further.0 -
OP...I'm confused, do you currently have insurance and if so do they know about the cancellation & conviction?0

its not a payday lenders fault, its yours. you need someone to drive you round until you hopefully pass your test. and if your already at the payday lenders door, then you can't afford it. if the wife or your best mate is unemployed then its grovelling time.
Honestly, if your driving without insurance, I have no sympathy for you what so ever. I hope whoever insures you next time charges you a fortune.
Agreed. I'd have locked him up.
The problem with the youth of today, blaming everyone but themselves for the crap they alone have got themselves into.0 -
Indeed it is... when did you last check you were still insured? They might have cancelled it without telling you!!
Impossible. I pay it all on the day, it is set to auto renew should I "forget", they send you oodles of reminders through the post and by email and only a halfwit could really forget when their insurance comes round.0 -
Reminders maybe, but there's one or two insurance companies whose names keep coming up for allegedly not sending out letters to warn a policyholder of cancellation after a payment collection problem. I wish Which? or similar would do test purchases - buy a policy and stop the payments, and see if these companies actually send the letters as they should. Sometimes the payment problems aren't even the policyholder's fault.property.advert wrote: »... they send you oodles of reminders through the post and by email0 -

I know when the insurance comes out that was not the problem, the problem was I had a company who was going into my current account and taken money from the account, hence me getting advice telling me to switch accounts and stop my DD's and for the last time it was my fault I did not set my DD back up because of different issues at the time.
