Look on the bright side. The police stopped you and informed you that yoou were uninsured before you carried on and possibly had an accident, perhaps killing or worse maining someone for life.
Even a minor prang may have set you back several £thousands, but with personal injury/disability the cost could easily run into £millions
... and without insurance cover you would be held personally liable.
As it is, you've only lost your job (you can get another), will have to pay for a new test (£100 ?) pay the fine £375.
You may lose the car too if the police seized it (they do around here!) and the only way to get it back is to get it insured (which you obviously can't) plus their recovery & daily storage fees.
If you do re-take the test and decide to carry on driving, your insurance will suffer a hefty loading for a few years.
But overall, you appear to have come out of this lightly, although you may not see it that way cxurrently.
If you do decide to get behind the wheel again, do make sure you are fully legit!
Is there something worse than killing someone?0 -
In my experience, people only lose everything when they make a mistake and then panic and then make a series of stupid decisions Losing your licence will not cost you your job if you can organise yourself as suggested in previous posts. Sort out how you are going to do your job until you get your licence back.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

And OP - you have screwed up for not getting proper advice earlier, as it would have probably saved your license
I have been given some information about going to see some specialist advice and see if I can appeal against the points and this would put the revoke on hold until it goes to court again. I have been told I should have told the court I was a week off driving for two years and I use my car for work which I travel around 800 miles a week, they may of give me 5 points and a bigger fine, what I would do for that outcome right now.0 -

He thought it was insured. Re-read the OP.
Then read the link at the top called "etiquette". You're badly in need of education. Can I help?0 -

1) how long would it take to get my prov liecence back?
2) how quick can I book and take my theory test again?
3) how quick can I book and take my practical test again?
what time scales could I be looking at?
I am thinking a month at the earliest?
I am sorry if I sound like I am panicking but I really am, it has took me over 10 years to get out of serious debt problems and I am almost there but this could put me back to square one.0 -

I'm not sure what maining is. Maybe maining is like maiming, but a lot worse?0 -
Am I right in thinking that you still have a few days before you have to stop driving? That will give you some wriggle room? Could you take some holiday?
Does your wife drive?
You may not pass your test first time, so bear that in mind. If you register for cancellations, you could be on the road again pretty soon.
It won't take you back to square one because you have ten years' experience now to help you deal with it.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Probably too late now, should of gone with the 5pts deal in the court room as you "need the car for work" and showed proof of uninformed cancellation etc.0

Can your wife not drive you until it's all sorted?******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
