You need someone to ferry you around, but because you were already in financial difficulty you probably don't have the money for that. Can you do an emergency loan off family or borrow from the wife's shoe & handbag fund? Sell some belongings to raise funds?

I think I am going to seek some legal advice and if possible put an appeal in and hope for the best. At least it will give me a few weeks to save up and if possible book a re-test, I think this maybe the better option to go down.

Legal advice definately.
It's too complicated for anyone on here to advise, apart from trying to limit the damage, and keep the job ticking over.

That moped was something I wouldn't have thought of. Any chance you can manage that for work?

Even if you do have to spend to get around to keep in work, it'll only be a set back, then in a few weks hopefully you can be driving again and back on track.

It is a shame that you didn't make it another 10 days, as you would have driven a full two years and I believe that is the cut off point for revoking licences.

Then, you need to find out a solution for the interim. You need a driver, which could be the wife, a relation or perhaps you know someone who is unemployed who would do it reasonably cheaply (£40 a day?) for cash in hand (no moral questions from other members please, I'm just trying to get someone out of a temporary hole).

Out of interest, how many days do you spend a week doing (attending) courses and where is your other days spent (put together courses etc.), i.e. do you work from home or a local over, which would mean you either wouldn't need to drive or could use public transport. As this would cut down the number of days that you would NEED (not want) a driver.

This is slightly excessive for no insurance...... If the offence was not driving related (not careless, reckless or dangerous driving), why should you have to take a retest?

Or were you pulled for something else?

Even the healthiest person can become unwell. Can't you 'lose' your voice for a few days until you get your licence back?
