He hasn't had his licence for 2 years.... 6 points=RevokedAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0

Or were you pulled for something else?
I think the 6 points led to the licence automatically being lost as the OP had passed their test within the two year probation period in which they were stopped by police.
Edit - Paradigm beat me to it

And you both beaten by me.
It is a shame that you didn't make it another 10 days, as you would have driven a full two years and I believe that is the cut off point for revoking licences.0 -
I agree with the above. The DVLA is revoking the license in 5 days time because you have accumulated 6 points within 2 years. Lodging an appeal - if it is even possible after a guilty plea - will be slow and isn't going to change that. You need to think of practical ways to stay in the job without a licence. A moped is a genius idea if you can get a big enough backpack to hold your laptop and documents in. The falling sick idea is naughty, but if this whole situation of losing everything is getting you stressed, depressed even, in other words sick, then perhaps a doctor could genuinely help... a bit of time off to clear your head?0

Would your employers be prepared to offer you work in their office until you can retake your test? Or paid/unpaid leave? If you're good at your job and they don't want to lose you, there may be a solution to this without you being fired or telling lies.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Use any holiday you can.
And/or your wife will have to use any holiday SHE can to drive you.
Hopefully you'll get a cancellation and be back on the road by the time both holiday entitlements run out.
And if that means you can't go away this year...well...if you're using payday loans that's probably a blessing in disguise...import this0 -
Hello everyone, please can someone help me?
I have a major major issue, I have posted on here before with regards to the debt situation I was in and was given some great advice. I need some again if possible.
I have a fantastic job where I travel around the country delivering training courses, so I need my car for travelling around. I passed my driving test on the 20th October 2009 and on the 10th October 2011, I was pulled over by the police for having no insurance. One month prior to this I was having an issue with a pay-day loan company which should have been sorted with my debt management company looking after my debt. This payday loan company then got hold off my bank details (dont know how) and took £750 from my account without me knowing. When I rang the bank they stopped all my direct debits and changed my account number etc. With so much going on stupidly I forgot to re-arrange my car insurance and Hastings cancelled my car insurance (Again with out my knowledge) so I was driving for 3 three weeks without knowing my insurance was cancelled and thats when the police pulled me up.
I went to court last week and pleaded guily, It was my fault and I took the 6 points and a fine of £375.
This morning I have recieved a letter saying in 5 days time my liecence has been revoked and I have to re-sit my test and driving test.
I really cannot afford to lose my job because thats whats going to happen, after a fantastic start to my new career its all going to crumble in my face. Thats means my wife, house everything I own, I will lose, someone please help because I cannot take much more of this.
thanks Dave
Look on the bright side. The police stopped you and informed you that yoou were uninsured before you carried on and possibly had an accident, perhaps killing or worse maining someone for life.
Even a minor prang may have set you back several £thousands, but with personal injury/disability the cost could easily run into £millions
... and without insurance cover you would be held personally liable.
As it is, you've only lost your job (you can get another), will have to pay for a new test (£100 ?) pay the fine £375.
You may lose the car too if the police seized it (they do around here!) and the only way to get it back is to get it insured (which you obviously can't) plus their recovery & daily storage fees.
If you do re-take the test and decide to carry on driving, your insurance will suffer a hefty loading for a few years.
But overall, you appear to have come out of this lightly, although you may not see it that way cxurrently.
If you do decide to get behind the wheel again, do make sure you are fully legit!"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

Thanks again guys for the advice,
I fully understand the police stopping me and I take the punishment that comes my way and yes I agree with you premier. Still I was driving for a week under two years, never had a accidant, never had a speeding ticket or parking ticket and then this happens
I would also like to add that when I recieved my court papers there was no mention of a revoke of my liecence, only saying that I would recieve possible points. If it had stated that a possible driving ban would be possible, I would of sort some advice before I went to court and pleaded guilty.
It cost me £245 to collect my car from compound
£345 fine from the court
6 points on my liecence
and now it could cost me £50 for provissional
£35 to re-book theory test
£62 to re-book my preactical test
It could also cost me my job which I earn 25k a year, my home if I cannot pay my rent.
This is what is waiting for me a few weeks down the line.
I am trying to work it out how much time I would need to get everything back in line and driving again, does a month sound about right in getting my theory, practical and provissional licence back?0 -
