  • Hi again, just popped back to say that AussieLass just phoned me and they are now off on their way to Scotland to continue their trip. It's just as well we had the meet on Sat because Aussie was convinced that to get to Scotland from London you had to start off from Waterloo  :rotfl: Luckily I set her straight and they are now at King's Cross about to head up north... give her a wave Nelski when she comes past :D

  • Morning all,

Hugs to Moggins, Shez and Bargain Rzl and to anyone else who feels in need of one.

Have been to our local independent chemist to get some passport photos done (cheaper than the machine in Tesco) and they are awful - will definitely help me stick to the diet!! Have agreed with dh that if I give up alcohol for the diet, we will use the money saved to sponsor another child. So I shall have to stick to it - otherwise massive guilt pangs! Still I refuse to have another fat summer.....

Off to make some oatmeal bread in a minute from More with Less - it's become the family standard. Also need to make some flapjacks. Had a funny week last week as we had to do the choices for ds1's secondary schools. The 11+ results came out the Sat before last and we had to choose the schools by Weds and fill the forms in at school. He got an A which we were very pleased about and so should get into one of his two first choices - fingers crossed. We now have to wait till the end of May to find out:confused:

Also need to stardrops the kitchen floor as it rained most of the weekend so there's loads of mud tracked in.

Packed lunches: macaroni cheese reheated from last night - dh and ds2 made enough to feed an army
Me: Soup I found in the freezer - I think it's a sweetcorn chowder

    Dinner: HM pizza

    Have a good day everyone

bargainrzl & moggins - doing abit of crying and talkingto myself right now.

Garage turned up to pick up car and guess what - No curtesy car (funny i thought that would be the case)
Had words with both garage and then insurance company (who told me they would drop one off when picking up)

Got a load of c*rp about 24hrs till they assess the car from garage beforethey decide I get a curtesy one and told 48 hrs from insurance, blah blah

Tried to explain, that I am stuck here with 2 young kids, pouring with the rain, and I need to get to a Funeral for 10.30! (which I do) and couldnt they just sort something out this time without red tape:confused: - looks like im gonna miss funeral now.

have given up, gone off to cry in my :coffee: - so will join you rzl in a good cry and then give myself a moggins talking too and buck up!

I'm having a bit of a pants time at the moment so you probably won't see me around too much until I have kicked off this emotional squall.Everything just seems like too much effort at the moment.

Hiya Moggins, Shez, Rzl and all others in need.

Sending you big hugs from one emotional wreck to another. I make an effort to read the threads when I can but posting is difficult - god only knows why.

Grrr... we finally settled our pay award for this year and we will get back pay from 1 August into this months pay packet and guess what - just found out my car needs a new alternator (between £200-300) so that's my back pay and more gone. My car also needs taxing and MOT next month (which I thought my back pay would cover with a bit left over).

I somehow don't think I'm going to get the new outfit I need for a birthday party I'm going to at the end of the month.

I'm sure someone up there thinks this is funny!!

    Hello all!

Yaaaaaaayyy, it's half term in East Sussex!

I am sat here drooling watching This Morning, as they are making chocolates!! Yummy.

Am trying to find a good place to send some flowers to my Nan on Wednesday. It's her first Valentines Day without my Grandad, and although OH and I can't afford a huge Interflora bouquet like he used to get her, OH suggested we get her some pretty flowers to let her know that we love her a lot! Am thinking M&S as there are a lot of people who have had bad experiences with Asda, and some of the other places suggested don't have any more delivery spots for Wednesday! Can get piggy points with M&S too, and I used to work there and know what great quality the flowers are. I just wish a local farm could take an order from us and deliver to her, but not for under £25, oh no!

Am trying to sort the kitchen out today and tomorrow as we have our dishwasher being delivered and fitted on Wednesday! I really cannot wait! It'll be such a godsend and was something I wanted to get with my DLA backpayments way back in September, but as I was working at M&S rather than teaching, it all went on bills!! Now we can finally afford one and it'll be a weight off of both our backs, more time to spend with each other, and on other projects, such as my jewellery making or something else!

Just been doing all my (and OHs) CTs and then I'm going to do a few householdy bits and make a few more pieces of jewellery :)

Trying to make the most of my free time, but at the same time cannot push myself as I don't want to make myself ill!

Now am going to catch up on this thread as haven't read it properly, and rescue the dog from the bath as he has decided to jump in (it's empty)!

    xx

Morning all, been out with the dogs for an hour or so after packin the 2 terrors off to school (our schools off next week) had breakfast so more awake now. Weathers yak here, all wet and soggy but nice walk through the woods cleared my head.

Lelc what type of car is it? Could you not source a much cheaper one from a motor factors or scrap yard ? I think I paid £15 for the last one I got!

Right tme to crack on with the housework! Must finish that assignment at some point but have a support group meeting tonight, hmm maybe do it when I get home!
One day I might be more organised...........

lelc - that always happens to me too. As soon as I get some money in, a bill comes along to swipe it.

Just think positive, at least you had the extra money there and available.
