  • Morning everyone:hello:

Half term - oh joy  What with the kids being snowed off school on Thurs and Fri I feel like I've already done half term.

Off to Waitrose this morning, not your cheapest supermarket, but I'm sick of Tesco. Just some simple basic ingredients to get so it shouldn't be too expensive. Then off to the farmshop for fruit and veg.

I've lost another 3 lbs this week :j :j Feel I'm really getting to grips with this weight loss lark now.

    Have a good day all:)
  • Morning all

Its a little bit warmer in County Antrim.

We had a fairly good weekend. Did a little bit of shopping on Sat then relaxed in front of the TV.

Later today I am accompanying my mother to her GP to arrange for her to see a specialist regarding her blackouts. Hopefully she will get sorted soon

Hope everyone has a good day
  • Morning all,

    ((((hugs)))) to moggins and shez

Sounds like lots of fun going on in the house of mrs mortenharket. Think we may visit the cinema today but not sure that DS and DD will agree on what they want to see.

Changed my bedding today - kids beds were done yesterday. House is pretty much clean and tidy and lasagne is in the fridge for dinner tonight so I am giving myself the day off now to do whatever DS and DD feel like doing (within reason).

Have an appointment with a chiropodist this afternoon. Not looking forward to it but hey ho.

    Have a marvellous Monday. xx

its about the supermarkets selling substandard products,

    Morning all

Just been looking at the pics of the london meet - looks like everyone had fun.

Its a pretty miserable day in Inverness but at least it feels a bit warmer than of late. One of my warning lights came on (the battery light) which I think means I need a new battery but I'll ask one of the guys here to have a look for me before I do anything else. If its just a battery then dh can get it at cost and fit it. About time he made himself useful.

Had a pretty busy day yesterday cooking and cleaning. I did manage to use up all the fruit I had festering away in the fridge - plum crumble, pear/cherry crumble and apple/pear cobbler. I also made some bns/ginger soup for this week.

We had turkey for dinner last night and there's enough left to make Moggins' creamy turkey for tonight.

Kyle - you asked where for a scottish meet - I'm not too fussed but possibly central belt which gives options for those in the north and the south of scotland but is also possible for those in northern england and borders. What do you think?

  • Morning :hello:

((((Hugs)))) to moggins and Shez, I need a few myself this morning as I am feeling like sh*t - just really low and depressed and on the verge of tears :( There isn't really one single reason for it - just want to go home and curl up in bed. Not sure whether it's "women's problems", a sign that I'm coming down with a bug, or just a random case of everything getting on top of me

Made a sweet potato and tomato soup last night - based on the recipe in the Lindsay Bareham book but I adapted the quantities - I wanted to make a large batch so used three times the quantity of sweet potatoes, onions and tomatoes, but only twice the quantity of stock as I like thick soup. I think I should have gone easier on the butter, though (used three times the recipe quantity but I think it's a bit over-rich, so next time I think I'll keep it in proportion with the stock rather than the veg).

It was yummmmm. Very sweet and rich though. I brought a portion into work for my lunch, and another one for a colleague who eats cup-a-soups for lunch and I keep trying to convince him how un-nutritious they are.

Tonight need to make chilli con carne, if I put it off any longer the mince will go off. Must remember to pop out at lunchtime for onions and fresh coriander.

By the way I had a text from Penny-Pincher!! yesterday, she and the family are enjoying themselves on their weekend away :)

Anyway I have a huuuuge amount of work to do today so I need to get on with it.

    Good morning everyone

Still raining miserably here in the east of Scotland, has done for three days now.:(

Well, my "popping" around to Asda quickly for pizza toppings yesterday afternoon resulted in a flat tyre on my car and this morning in two new front tyres as they were both illegal  Kwik fit had an offer on, if you applied for their card you get 20% and 4 months interest free and I am insured with Kwik Fit so an extra 10% off. I am not keen on cards but I just do it for the deal and not use it again.

Moggins Sorry you feel so down. It's hard to pull yourself out of the depression, I know, so ((((((((big hugs)))))))) for you.

Shez The little sh*tes!!! The cheek to come back again, you just want to wring their necks

    Bargain RZL: ((((hugs)))

DD off school again with sore back, we are waiting for a hospital appointment.
