euronorris wrote: »Hi All,
I did WeightWatchers some years back, and lost just over 2 stone with them. I since put it back on again, but then lost it again naturally when I moved to NL (culture change!).
However, I've now settled into the country more, know where to find my favourite treats, and discovered some new ones!!! And last year was particularly stressful. Towards the end of it, I started to pig out way too much, and stopped the Qi Kwan Do classes as I had to have a small op on my wrist.
Since then, I've been telling myself that I will eat more healthily today/this week/next week etc and start exercising again, but it hasn't happened. And the lbs have definiately crept on as I've gone up a dress size.
Now, I don't think I have too much to lose (I haven't got on the scales yet!), but I want to get things under control again before it becomes a bigger challenge (and before I have to shell out on an entire new summer wardrobe!). Plus, having just had a bout of flu, I want to improve my diet some more to maximise vitamin intake etc.
So, seeing as I got on so well with WW in the past, I thought I would have a look at the online version. It looks great! Only trouble is with the cost. I can afford it, but I am bit loathed to fork out without being able to give it a trial run and see how good it really is.
So, are any of you using the online WW? If so, how are you finding it? Do you feel it is worth the money?
Thanks in advance.

Its worth signing up for 3 months via a cash back site (effectively making it free if you time it right) - but the 3 months showed me it wasn't viable to spend £11 a month for what was effectively a points calculator (which has many discrepancies on the database and can use free versions available - as per my post further up this thread). I did buy the pro points calculator from WW which cost about £14 delivered too. Then i just write what I've eaten in a diary, I don't bother writing down FREE foods as it takes up too much spaceThe end is nigh0 -

Thank you. This is what I was thinking.
I have found a free site, from one of the other threads on here, that seems great! See thread here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3758897 It is detailed in the first postFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Yeah, no iPhon or Android phone here. Only a BlackBerry, provided by work, which leaves me wanting to throw it against a wall in frustration most of the time! :mad:February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi everyone
I am looking to join a slimming club and just found out there's a WeightWatchers meeting less than half a mile from me, so I am thinking about that. I am just wondering what kind of results people have had? I'm the kind of person, if I don't see change quickly I lose motivation and interest
I'd love to hear about your experiences so I can make up my mind!0 -

I was looking at doing WW again, I was always a fan, I liked its simplicity, I had even learnt how to calculate points mentally when shopping if I didn't have my calculator. I was less keen on how they encourage to eat more process food (their stuff is full of additives, not great).
When I went to join this year I found their pro points impossible to use, too complicated, a way of making people more dependent on expensive calculators, or even better buying their food.
However I found a system that is much much better, it was actually mentioned on the WW forum, by a disgruntled dieter, who found the new pro points too complicated.
It's called scottish slimmers, and they have an incredibly simple points sistems (called checks) based only on calories. Vegs are free (fruits isn't although they give you extra points to eat two portions, same thing for milk/yoghurt).
There are no classes outside Scotland, but you can join online, or sometimes find a book on ebay (called PEP). Thy system has hardly changed for years, except that this year you can save some points every day and use them when you need them.
Very similar to WW, but much easier as you only need to know calories (which is what makes you lose weight, nothing else). What you eat is up to you.0 -
3lb lost this week, happy with that. Just 2.5lb to get back to what I was before Christmas! 5 weeks till my centerparcs trip so would like another 5lb loss before then!0

Well done mintymoneysaver and DueMarch11 for your weight losses.
My first weigh in and I've lost 3.3lbs which I am very happy with as I struggle to lose weight.
I think it may have been more but I was holding my weekly points until Wednesday when I was going to go out with friends. That didn't happen so I ended up snacking a lot with (keeping inside my weekly points though).
Next week I either need to spread them out or if Wednesdays get cancelled again then not use them on snacking.0 -

I don't find that you *are* pushed into buying processed foods, and propoints encourages healthy eating, that's why fruit and veg is zero points. Like everything else, once you get used to it, there isn't a problem.
What you are describing sounds like the old points system at weightwatchers.
Anyway, I've lost 2 pounds this week, so quite happy with that.
DueMarch11 - you shouldn't be disappointed with 3.5 pounds, the plan aims for 2 pounds a week.
euronorris - the best thing would be to sign up via a cashback site, and see if it works for you. At least that way it costs nothing.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
