Hello all!
Nice shiny new thread for the new Year. I put 6lb on over Christmas, but lost 2.5 again last week, so back on track hopefully. I had been yoyoing a bit before that, so need to lose another 4.5 lb to get back to the 30lb that I had lost up till then.

So here's to a New Year, and lots of success!:j

  • this is going to sound a bit strange but wanted to see if anyone has experienced similar. Having done weightwatchers for a good while, i have about half a stone/stone to lose, and i've got to the point where i'm really making the effort to eat healthy, not just use my points if you know what i mean(ie not use so much processed food etc, more brown rice, veg, fruit). Anyway, i put about five pounds on over christmas, and thought once i got back on board it would come off quite quickly. Now i was so good all week and really proud of my meals(lots of veg, fruit, brown rice, fish, way different meals than i usually have, and way more filling too) but i only lost one pound this week. I know a loss is a loss, but it seems to me that when i was eating more unhealthy(but still sticking to points) i was losing weight more easily? And now that i'm eating healthier(but again, within points). I feel like i'm getting nowhere? I know it could be a blip and might even out, but its disheartening as i thought i was doing the right thing.

does veg etc take longer to get through your system or something, than the likes of corn snacks/processed food etc?

sorry for the ramble, just feeling a bit bleugh about the whole thing at the minute!

    Hi ES
A healthy weekly weightloss with WW is UPTO 2lb per week - any more than that you begin to lose muscle mass. So your 1lb as much as you don't think is a great amount to lose it brilliant! :D
All the foods you are listing as eating, the majority, are more than likely on the filling and healthy list, these foods are higher in protein and fibre and will keep you fuller for longer and your body has to work harder to proccess them.
Please don't be diheartened as your 1lb is a great step in the right direction.

Awww i know the feeling, sometimes seems its a lot of effort for little reward. From experience though, if you stick at it you may get a higher loss the following week. 1lb is great if its fat though, its a lot when you see it as butter. Need to listen to my own advice, been healthy eating for a week, gym everyday apart from yesterday i went swimming, cut out diet coke and alcohol, weighed myself and lost 0lb :( So did better than me! Will keep it up and its bound to show soon. Well done!

glad i ain't the only one feeling disheartened I managed to have some control over xmas and lost 1lb the week between xmas and new year but over the past 6 weeks i have had 4 weeks of staying the same and lost 3lbs bringing total loss to 5stone 12lb im trying really hard to stick to plan and exercise but im at the point now where im fed up of it now because nothing seems to be happening and im still 9lbs from being at the top end of healthy weight range its been a year since i started and i havent had any alcohol in that time and i was craving it over xmas but was scared i'd get drunk even sniffing it so i didn't bother. What really wound me up was last year when i started on new years day i had a ton of chocolate and stuff in from xmas so this year i didn't buy any cos i thought i'd get some as presents......i got a packet of percy pigs and that was it! after 3 of them i felt sick so gave them away. Hoping i can get motivation back soon cos i really don't want to start gaining again.....sorry for ranting better go de ice the car....how many activity points is that? :rotfl:

    Hi everyone

I'm going back to WW tonight after a rather long break (and 2 stone heavier ! :o)

I am doing the grocery challenge too so I'm going to have to make it fit in with that - it seems the new pro-points plan is geared up towards home cooking?

  • Hi I have joined online today, have done SW in the past but I really don't like all the fat free, sugar free tasteless foods you have to eat, so thought I would give this a go.

Weight to lose altogether about 6 1/2 stone :-(
  • Glad to find this thread... joined Weight Watchers two weeks ago, two weigh-ins so far, first one 6lb off, and today another 3.5lb. So 9.5lb off, :j only two and half stone to go! :(

Totally cross at myself for putting all the weight on last year, admittedly a very stressful year, but going to try and lose it as fast as I can so my summer clothes fit me again.

Really like the ProPoints system and cooking the recipes I've found online is also a help - the salmon and asparagus pasta made with Philadelphia is dreamy...

    Good luck everyone :)
  • Welcome all newcomers!
I've been out for a run tonight, as I've decided I'm going to do a 10k race again this year ( my first one in 10 years) Hoping it will help with my weight loss too, although it doesn't feel like it at the moment, really bloated as it's the wrong time of the month!

I'm back from my first WI and it was as expected .... got about 2 1/2 stone to lose altogether

I've sorted out what I'm eating tomorrow, am liking the pro-points - seems i'll be able to tweak my weekly mealplans a little bit and still stick to the Grocery Challenge. I may have to buy a bit more fruit/veg to fill me up but I can allow for this.

Going to hide all the chocolate and wine tomorrow so it's out of harms way :o.

    That's fantastic didsburylass ! :T

A quick question for you all, how do you use up your 'extra' points allowance? Do you spread it over the week or use it up all at once (e.g. at a weekend)? I wonder if it makes a difference to losses?
