I only did the dunkers and ww yoghurt as I missed supper, trouble is I done the same today  Was up early to get to the office, then straight to the Gym, 30min cross trainer and 20min bike (963cals) then to my parents, home to Mrs Suggs asleep and dinner in the fridge
Sounds like you have her well trained already :rotfl:
963 cals in 50 mins - phew, no wonder you are doing so well. It's a real motivator the calorie thing though isn't it? If I'm doing well can do around 1 cal per min but that's pushing myself. Can't push myself much more - although I remember when I first started the gym years ago I did 10 min on the lowest setting on the cross trainer and thought I was going to die - and was red as a beetroot for about 2 hours afterwards! Take heart you gym virgins - if you stick at it it does get better and you get to enjoy it and reap the rewards.
Well, let's see if I can have another good day - one day at a time is the motto for now I think.Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
I find the gym a really vicious circle because I know the gym will help with the weight loss and make me feel better but to do it, afterwards, my joints in my knees and my hips really hurt (I am only 29!!) and I seem to really click a lot. I have been wondering for a while whether I should start taking some glucosamine or something? Does anybody else find this?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

I take glucosamine and it does help - got complacent and stopped taking it and started getting the aching joints again. Good stretching really helps too - warming up and cooling down. The cross trainer probably puts less strain on your joints so try that if you find walking/jogging causes problems. I vary the cardio I do as this helps your metabolism as well as your joints!Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Does anyone know where I can find an explanation on how slimming world works. I see a lot more people on here do SW rather than WW and I would like to compare to see if I could do SW easier?
Hi Sky - You could buy the SW magazine (its around £2.50 in the shops, cheaper at SW class) and it will have a 7 days meal plan in it. Alternatively you could look on the SW website for a meal planner, as far as I know there is one on there too.
SaryMary and Juliejim -sorry to hear that you are both unwell. Julie - the cough medicine and lozengers may be high in syns but you needed them, there's always next week.
Victory - is DH feeling smug now about talking you out of going out for a meal on Mothers day - if he is give him a punch from me :rotfl: you've done so well!
The Xfactor concert was fab last night, am a bit hoarse from all the singing. DS enjoyed his first concert but is shattered as we werent home until 1140pm  Have kept him off school today - he was sent home sick yday so it doesnt look so badI'm off too as I have a migraine - think its tiredness too - I will be tucked up in bed early tonight - Mr Honey is working late so once the kids go to bed I will follow suit.
I managed to get the to gym for a while yesterday until I got the call to go to school for DS - must have done some good because my upper body is sore from the weights. I bought a dress for a wedding I am going to next month from Nest - Size 12, and it fits well (read: I can breathe when I have it on) Well chuffed. Although the weight loss is slow I am toning up and losing inches :T

I hope you told her you were going to be late because next time you might just find your dinner in the dog/bin :rotfl:0 -
Morning all
Welcome to Sea & Sky (looks summery written that way, lol) and well done to Victory :j
Sky the worst thing I have heard about WW is that they promote, very strongly, their own ready meals and snacks and I honestly think they're not awfully healthy. Ready meals have a place, I know, but they shouldn't be the mainstay of anyones diet - they are often full of salt and sugar and rarely big enough to satisfy the appetite (well, mine anyway).
It's far cheaper and healthier to cook from scratch and, with a wee bit of planning, it doesn't take as long as you may think. I like to make batches of things like chilli, curry or even cottage pie, then split them into portions and freeze. They are then as quick as any other ready meal, but you know exactly what's gone in them.
As Honey says, look on the website for a 7 day menu for SW and you'll find other bits of info too. Go to: www.slimming-world.com it's a very easy diet which gives you loads to eat, so is great for pigs like me :rotfl:
Incidentally, if you find the gym tough on your joints, what about swimming or even walking - both excellent exercise and walking is free (very MSE!)
Ciara I hate the word 'diet' too and always tell people it's 'healthy eating', which, it is. For me the word diet sends the message that you are 'going on' one only to 'come off' it at some point, which, of course, you can't do if you don't want the weight to come back.
Honey glad you enjoyed the X Factor, I love to see it on TV and bet it's even better in the flesh.
Petrichor, kind words, but with me it's more waffle than wise :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Just to reiterate what Victory says. I was speaking to someone the other day about being kind to yourself and what she said really made an impact. She said, if your friend said to you that she was fat and ugly, you'd jump to her defence and tell her she was lovely, and yet we look in the mirror and tell ourselves we're greedy, fat or whatever and drag ourselves down.
It's time we became our own best friend and told ourselves we may be plumper than we'd like but we're making an effort to do something about it. We may fall off the wagon occasionally, but we valiantly keep climbing back on. We may be taking the scenic route, but the destination is the same.
We're triers and we're stickers and with lots of mutual support, we'll get there in the end.
Take it one day at a time and never let one bad day turn into a bad week/month/year! After all, if you had one dead flower in a vase, you wouldn't throw the whole bunch away, would you?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
true words Consultant, im taking on a healthy living lifestyle (think thats said right) whats the point of "dieting" it all off only to put it all plus more back when when it stops!
