    Good Morning Peeps

I'm pleased to say that at the end of week 10 my scales show a loss of 2.2lbs  I got on the scales twice to check; I think it was all the early morning starts last week paying off and continuing with the positive thinking, so I'll have a quick  .

Hello! mamaden, you may think you have a lot to lose but you are not alone here, the time will pass quickly although at the start the end does seem light years ahead.

Victory you will be thanking your H, think how a person who has given up smoking never can stop at just one, they always start up again (and think how nice it will be when you and H make up - extra calories burnt ;) )

Well done loopy loo73 :j isn't it a boost psychologically when you hit a 1st mark?

Thriftykatie, Although you've decided to go on hold, well done for not giving up entirely, it would be a shame to undo all the hard work put in so far.

TallGirl and bb don't be disheartened, next week will be better, at least you haven't let it get to you :T Same to you too Shirley Park.

Well done Suggs I'm far too modest to say 'I told you so'.

Hmm I'm getting a bit Mumsy so I'll go now, but good luck to those of you still to weigh in.

    xxxx

    Morning all.

Welcome to Mamaden and may I suggest that you don't think about having to lose 15 stone, but think about it in ½ stone 'lumps', if you see what I mean. It is not such a big task to lose ½ stone and you can then get yourself a mini-target every few weeks to keep you motivated.

Welcome back to Ciara, good to 'see' you again!

Petrichor and Loopy excellent results, I hope you're very proud of yourselves :T

Less than 2 weeks to my hols now and I'm very excited. Got my case more or less packed and keep checking the websites for the weather in New York. I don't care if it's cold, but am praying that the rain holds off while we're there. Still got to fill the freezer with meals for DH or he'll live on rubbish while I'm gone (he's not very domesticated).

Good luck for the weigh-ins everybody.

  • Good morning everyone,
Well done looby-lou 73, suggs and petrichor.
I have stayed the same this week and I feel awful about it. I am going to try drinking water this week and see if that makes any difference and also try to up my exercise as I don't do very much. I am sticking to the diet so I don't know what else I can do. Good luck everyone who hasn't weighed in yet. :D

    Hello Everybody.
I would like to join in if I may.
I am going to start the Slimming World diet tomorrow as I know it works. I cannot afford to attend but I have printed off 2 weeks of recipies to use.
Does anyone on here post the website password or isn't that allowed?
I am hoping to be around for a long time (if you'll have me) as I have 15 stone to lose. (no that isn't a typo) :O(
Anyway I look forward to joing you all and I will save this forum in my favourites and visit every day.

Just reread your post, dont say 15 stone, say 7lb? hit that target, then have a little treat, item of clothing or something, welcome it, enjoy it. Then set another target :-) Currently we are doing a target of 5lb loss by the Monday before Easter, our third such target since the New Year. Im sure after our Easter treat, we will reset the target again, maybe to the First May Bank Holiday? Though thats a thread decision, and I wouldnt want to upset the lovely ladies.

When I rebooted myself last January, according to the BMI I had 16odd stone to loss  although my personal goal was initally 6.5 stone, then 8.4 stone and probably 10 stone as the final target. I always work in 5-7lb mini targets as that helps. I also went to see my GP before starting and was referred to a dietictian, not for any other reason than to keep the GP informed as to my progress, my goals and motivation.

Dont lose heart, I look forward to reading more about you soon.

I haven`t read all the thread, way too many pages in just one sitting,But do you lot do the calorie counting or go by the fat intake?

If you calorie count then how much do you do less than the average 2000 cals a day?

Can you add up all your daily calories in one week and use it as a weekly calorie diet or would it have to be daily?
Some days I might only have 700 calories but make up for it the next day.

I have stayed the same this week and I feel awful about it.

Dispel those negative thoughts immediately :naughty: you didn't gain, it's happened and there is nothing you can do to alter this latest result, but you can affect next weeks. As well as the water and excercise try reviewing your diet, I found that that helped me when my loss slowed down.

hazzie123 We are a very mixed bunch on here, SW, WW, calorie counting, Tesco online, attending clubs or going it alone etc. I do calorie counting as I find it easier as the majority of food stuffs have the calorific content on the packaging. The daily amount of calories varies for different people, I usually try and keep to roughly the same amount each day, but when I have a 'good' day for whatever reason, I may have a few more the next day if I find I want to. I wouldn't think it wise to, say, have 700 each day during the week only to have a blow out weekend but that's just my humble opinion.

Thanks beanie, I hope you have your loss tomorrow :T
