Nice to see you back Karren, I hope you're feeling brighter now. It seems that a few here are getting a little jaded but I think that when the warmer weather comes it will be a welcome boost to us all, just try and keep positive.
Well done katiepc on your achievements at work, and then to restrict yourself with the nibbles too. Doesn't it give you a lovely feeling of satisfaction, I felt quite smug when I resisted those wedges, and I must admit that I didn't need them nor miss not having them! I didn't really disappear, but the weekend was busy and when I caught up with all the posts, I got distracted, so when I got back here again there were a load more to read. I then spent ages writing one of the most brilliant posts that anyone could wish to write, but the bleeping thing disappeared into the ether  so I gave up in disgust! By the time I got back round to it the world had moved on apace.
I made that cauliflower and chickpea curry from last months SW magazine, and it was very nice, although I did use more curry powder, and found it surprisingly filling. OH and DD also enjoyed it.
Just spotted you bargain babe after previewing this drivel of mine; go and enjoy a nice piece of chocolate then start again on day one. I must admit that for the majority of time chocolate isn't a failing of mine and fortunately I'm having a good run at the moment with the diet, but when it goes it goes big time.
Where are you Victory, Connie???? I just don't have your knack in giving inspiration.
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Hi all,
I want to join the 'club' too.
I've rather a lot of weight to lose - we're talking stones and not pounds! I've PM Lois to ask to join the '2lb weight loss club' which should motivate me week by week.
I'm basically planning to follow the weightwatchers programme - writing down EVERYTHING I eat and using the points system. I have the books etc so it seems sensible to use these!
I previously lost weight after I got engaged to my OH. However the years married haven't been kind to me! I suffered with a debilitating illness which left us unable to have children which resulted in me suffering from depression. Its taken 7 years but my health is now much much better, and now its time for me!!!
I need to get some new batteries for my scales - which I will do tomorrow and will have my first weigh in on Monday - now quite a full week, but I'm not waiting to start.
Just hope I don't get any chocolates on Mothering Sunday! (NB - we adopted!)

Hi all
I've updated the chart with the latest wins - well done Gpuk, Beanielou, Juliejim and Karren :T
Following earlier threads about doing green days or red days for a whole week, I've had a week of green days, so it will be interesting to see what affect it has when I WI on Monday. I find it much easier to decide what to have for lunch on green days, but unfortunately I'm not having much choice about lunches this week as I've been out to the pub once and I've got 2 business buffet lunches to cope with.
I'm planning to do vegetable curry in the slow cooker tomorrow - I make loads and it's really filling, so I'll be able to save some for lunch on Monday.
Honey and TallGirl - how are you getting on with your slow cookers? Can one of you advise me please how you can quote from two separate posts in one reply please?
I have the thread open in two separate browsers, then while I'm writing a reply on one thread, I go to the other thread, click on quote in the message I want to reply to, then edit, copy and paste the quote from one thread to another. hmmm, just re-read that and I'm not sure if it makes sense..!I hope that you have been throwing out (or donating to charity shops) your clothes that are now too big; once when I lost weight I kept one skirt "as a reminder" only to be wearing that same skirt two years later after the weight piled back on. So the last I got down to target I threw out all my old kit, and it saved me from getting too large, because my clothes could only stretch so much (the teeth on the grips were grinning:D)
Four years ago I reached my target weight at SW and had reduced from size 22/24 to size 14/16, and had to replace my whole wardrobeand gave all the large size clothes to charity. I was determined that I wasn't going to need them again. Unfortunately my weight has crept up again - not to where I was before, but to about half way between, and I sometimes think longingly about certain items of my wardrobe that I gave away that would fit me now
But in a way it's a good thing, because I'm not going to buy bigger clothes to 'grow into them' so if I had a cupboard full of bigger things I would be more complacent than I am about having got bigger again.

What kind of cheese do you like? I like cheese with plenty of flavour - mature cheddar and stilton are my favourites - and find that low fat varieties just don't cut it. Thanks to SW I have retrained myself to make the most of very small amounts of cheese, and I only eat cheese that is really tasty, and therefore more satisfying in small amounts - I consider anything else to be a waste of a Healthy Extra!
I also quite like cottage cheese, and the very low fat varieties are free food on SW, so I sometimes have it for lunch, with ham and salad on a red day, or with a jacket potato on a green day.
This is the longest post I've written for ages! I hope I don't lose it when I click the reply button.
Thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow - have a good one. :j

Hi Frugal Fox & welcome - everyone is a really friendly bunch on here
i've just got back from the gym again, was supposed to be doing aqua aerobics but the woman turned up 15mins late & then was gossiping for another 5 with the 3 old ladies who were doing it so i decided just to swim lengths (which i's been doing while i was waiting anyway). i managed 50  in about 45mins which was how long the lesson was supposed to be & i reckon it did me better than what they were doing - cos i was watching as i was swimming
am really chuffed with myself for actually going
have a good evening all

Hi Frugal, Welcome to the thread. What a lovely story about you adopting - I admire you and hope that you get the lovely mothers day that you deserve.
Just in from my cake decorating class and I'm tired. Made 54  fairy cakes this afternoon, iced them and decorated with glace cherry to represent "red nose" for DS and DD class in school :A Bonus points or what :rotfl:
Petrichor, Its lovely to see you handing out good advice, I'm so glad you stuck with us.
Where's Suggs todayBet he's getting his love nest ready
:kisses2: All the best for the big move in!
Lois The slow cooker. Well I used it several times then the novelty wore off. I really must get it out again and use it. I'm still worried about going out and leaving it on so tend to use it when I am at home. Veg curry sounds good though - how do you make it in the slow cooker?
Well done Juliejim :T
Bargain babe Have a bit of chocolate - if you are craving it you need it, especially at TOTM and its probably better to have a controlled amount, count it in your diet than to wait until you are at breaking point and binge on it. (she says speaking from experience)0 -
HI all and welcome to Frugal Fox:wave:
Lois I lost 1/2 lb this week. (Can anyone tell me how to write a proper 1/2 instead of how mine looks???)
1/2 bloomin pound!!! That's the bit I needed to loose last week to get the 5lb challenge:mad:
Bet the Mcflurry had something to do with it:rotfl:
OOOOH just seen an advert for House starting next week... I love that guy, as much as some of you do the CSI guys so I'll bags him first:D
