PETRICHOR..... please don't go:D
We are all here for you.... I can't say I have found it easy but it is worth it in the end, it really is.... I am trying to get my BMI down in line with it being normal and that keeps me going.....I want more to be thin than to cheat/give up because I look at my kids and think they deserve a mum that is healthy, can play football with them and I so want to go to River Island and buy those white jeans and parade around with pride....:rotfl:
Please don't give up, use the tips on here which are fabulous and adjust them to yourself.... find an old photo of yourself slimmer and pin it to the fridge...
I have the most awful photo of me bending down to stroke a dolphin (once in a life time dream come true) I look huge!! would love to re-create it but loads slimmer...that photo goes everywhere with me to keep me on track....
Go and look around the shops and see some lovely clothes you would like to wear in a smaller size and dream about them as I do...:rotfl:
Think about the lighter nights as the OP said and think how it becomes easier to eat lighter salads etc:D
Think about your health and how much easier, happier, lighter, more energy you will have if you carry less weight;)0 -

Also, when I get the munchies in the evenings I've started having the new Hartleys Low calorie jellies. Only 1.5 syns each, and if I eat it slowly keeps me occupied for about 15 mins!
!
They do hartley's sugar free jellies (that mights save you some syns)which I make up in individual bowls with a little fruit from a can (in fruit juice drained) currently the lemon and lime one is mine and the kids favourite!...8 calories a 1/4 pint serving... I have mine at half seven when it is time for the tele watching...
That or red peppers cut into strips....cucumber chunks... you see a lot of it is habit and boredom so the house is completely stripped of anything that is tempting... the fridge stocks a freshly made salad to nibble on..muller light yoghurts....celery sticks with a bit of salt....0 -

I've lost 1lb this week. Well a loss is a loss I suppose.
OH delighted in telling me he's lost 4lbs. Which seems unfair as he's like a whippet anyway. I'll have to watch he doesn't lose more or we'll be even more like a couple on a saucy postcard. Had a great week foodwise, although I do find carbs do make me hungry so I might try to have more original then green days.
Petrichor I do understand your frustration . What eating plan are you using? Maybe you could try a different one see if that's any better. It sounds like you've got great will power and resolve so why noy try something different just for one week.0 -

Hi Petrichor
Like you I have been disappointed with my weight loss. I have been strictly calorie counting, around 1,250 per day, but in five weeks I have lost 5 pounds which sounds good but for the last two weeks my weight hasn't changed.
Looking at your signature, you seem to have lost 8 pounds in just over a month which is where I was hoping to be now.
Please don't give up!! I was thinking about giving up but I'm already carrying a stone on top of the stone I was always carrying and I know if I give up it will only get worse!
You may have found that you have lost inches without losing weight, like another poster has said, because doing lots of exercise can build muscle which weighs heavier and in the long term uses up more calories than fat so will help speed up your weight loss.
I know its really hard to limit yourself to what you can eat and be self disciplined especially when the result isn't coming as fast as you'd hoped - I sometimes just want to give up and eat a big bar of chocolate but then I remind myself how good I felt when I was lighter and that if I keep going I'm sure I can persuade my body to give up its fat!! Its a fight of mind over matter!!
There is loads of support on this board, everyone is willing each other on and if someone has a bad week, we are all there to pick them up and help them back on course and when you have a good week, the congratulations are there too.0 -
