So I give up and wish the rest of you better success, but my parting advice to all you 'youngsters' is that when you reach your target - keep it there- because the older you get the harder it is to lose weight.

Don't give up petrichor. There are plenty of people to help and support you on here and don't drop your calorie intake too low or your body will go into starvation mode. You have been good and that will show soon.
If it was easy to lose weight, then there wouldn't be slimming clubs and a big industry making money out of diets. You CAN do it.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Well done to all the losers, Victory FTBworried and Suggs- great results from all of you :T For those of you who maintained/gained, stick with it. Not sure I will make it to WI tonight, have been in bed since Saturday tea time with heavy cold. I now sound like Phyllis from Coronation Street and that I smoke 30 a day  (I dont!) Feeling slightly better today. Havent had much to eat over the weekend because I didnt feel like it - when I was hungry I just ate what I fancied rather than what I should have eaten.

Hope the others who aren't feeling well are picking up- kids are off school for half term this week and I have taken leave so hopefully I will feel better as the day goes on - promised DS and DD we would bake today  Really don't feel like it at all.

Hope Consultant is ok - havent seen her around for a good few days now, her last post was last Tuesday. Has anyone heard from her?

Edit to add just seen your post retired lady - well Done :T

Missmoneypenny, you seemed happy to maintian, so well done you :p

Happy? noooooo. But I can't turn the clock back:D I might even get on my exercise bike one day instead of using it as a decoration in the lounge.:rotfl: I'm going to have to push on a bit on my 9 miles a day, as I just don't get out of breath or break into a sweat (or is it a "glow" that females do?). Not do I get out of breath with the exercise video now, even when I go through it twice, so it might be time to sell it on ebay.

Well done to all the losers.:T Maintainers - never mind, at least you haven't gained.:T Those that gained - keep going. Some of us seemed to have hit a bit of a lull:confused: The lighter evenings are coming, so it will all be worth it when we can fit into those bikinis (trunks for Suggs), without hanging over in various places that we don't want to hang.:D

  • Hi All,

    Can I join your group?

Ive been following SW for 6 days (had a bad day yesterday) & weigh in is tomorrow. Im trying to do it at home. OH is also trying to join in but weighs himself twice a day & says hes put 1 lb on.

Im doing it because im quite overweight & my blood pressure is twice what is should be. Its never been right since I had the children.

If anyone has any good recipes or points I should be following I would be grateful for any advice.

Welcome Mary - try and stay away from the scales and only weigh once a week - it can be very demotivating weighing several times a day/week as our weight fluctuates so much - hide the scales from your OH!! We do have a recipe collection but the link to it has gone missing - I will see if I can find it and post the link for you.

Found it - here's the link - LOSING WEIGHT RECIPE COLLECTION

it's so much easier to give up than keep going (i know, i've done it often enough) but you'll feel better if you keep at it, the weight will move eventually, please stay & keep us all company on here :grouphug:

Well i put on this week. 1lb  although tbh i fully deserved it :rotfl: out on Tuesday, champagne on Thursday, sis stayed on Sat so big meal with booze (& she brought a HM cheesecake it was fab :D ) then pizza last night to cure the hangover  am quite pleased it was just 1lb !!!

Am going to be better this week & really watch what i eat & drink. No booze til the weekend & hopefully should be easier as am home cos its half term, although not sure if thats a help or not

Had jacket spud with cottage cheese & coleslaw for lunch, having fish, HM chips & beetroot for dinner & DD out to play this afternoon so going the gym :A hopefully can keep it up all week :p

well done all the losers / maintainers & all like me who put on keep at it - you know it's worth it in the end :D

    Hi all.

After a rubbish week last week, I've had a good food week this week. The only slip up I've had so far is 2 Duchy Originals choccie biscuits on Saturday - am about to log on to the SW website to check out the syns. I still don't "feel" like I'm losing though (if that makes sense). WI is weds evening, so fingers crossed for then.

I have solved a coupld of little problems tho. Around "that" time, I get cravings for all kinds of junk, but instead of giving in to it, I've started making myself an options. Just enough sweetness to satisfy the cravings, and only 3 syns (+1 because I make it with a little milk) :A

Also, when I get the munchies in the evenings I've started having the new Hartleys Low calorie jellies. Only 1.5 syns each, and if I eat it slowly keeps me occupied for about 15 mins!

    Retiredlady:T That's a fantastic loss!

    Sorry MissMoneypenny :o

I just looked it up and last week I swam a half mile twice, went to the gym four times burning between 732 & 1037 Calories each time. Using figures the machines tell me. There was no aqua due to the snow. Probably still overdoing it a little. Would like to balance it to four sessions mixed and one Aqua session. Then I might look good in my shorts :D

Ooh - that's made me really fancy coleslaw now! Are any varieties low syn?
