Wee, I've lost two pounds this week! And of course I feel much more motivated.

Dinnertime is still a problem, because I tend to feel hungry until I go to bed, or should I say I get the munchies in the evening. I have discovered a new technique that works for me.
I found a picture that has the quality of leaving me hungerless when I look at it. I really don't want to eat when I see it and feel more motivated to stick to a better diet and not keep grazing all over the place. I guess other people can use this technique as well, only for everyone it will be a different image. In my case, I am not going to disclose what it is (too personal :D ), but I'll say it is something pleasant to see that makes me want to improve myself.
I have gone further from there on and have developed as well another technique that gives me self-confidence (of which I want a lot!). Starting from that one picture, I used my imagination to make up a story based on it. Of course I am the protagonist, and this story develops in a way that makes me realise I am far worthier than I usually tend to believe of myself. In the last few days I've even changed the way I walk! I only have to think of the story and it's instant uplift (sorry I am not telling my story either - it's private :D:D ).
I hope you don't find these thing too weird, I thought they might help someone around here. They're certainly helping me.:p

I know id weigh a lot less if I could...
Well, I cannot vouch for that, because your tummy tends to bloat in those cases and for a while it won't make a difference in weight... but you'd feel much better.
    Try these things:
-hemp tea. It's excellent to hydrate the guts, works wonders.
-drink warm lemon tea (made with real lemon please) before breakfast.
-what fruit have you been eating? Forget bananas for a while and go for plums.
Good luck girl; you'll be fine in a few days ;)

    Evening all

I hope you've had a good weekend. I think I might be going down with something like some of you, one minute I'm cold and the next I'm too hot, and I'm feeling dizzy, with no appetite. :( At least the plus side is that no appetite means I might lose weight, but as my scales aren't working I won't know!
Ive still not been loo (sorry!) I nkow id weigh a lot less if I could. I eat musili for breakfast and lots of fruit

Hi keater - not going to the loo will have an affect on your weight loss, so it's worth trying to find something to get you going. Prunes and gooseberries usually work well for me, but if it's gone too far you may need to take something like Senokot.
And consultant will be along any minute now to tell you about egg and chips . . . . . . mmmmmmm

Haven't seen Connie for days, has she gone on holiday?

Madauri - I like the sound of this new strategy, but I have to say I'm really curious about the picture and the story....:rotfl: It's obviously working though - well done for losing 2lbs!

I recently dug out a picture of myself that was taken when I got to target, four years ago. I dug it out after a conversation with my Mum about losing weight - she was trying to convince me that I was too thin and gaunt then, which I disagree with. Anyway, I now have the picture on the wall behind my desk (at home) and it has definitely given me more motivation. I should stick a 'before' picture up as well.

Hello Beanielou and Kiran and Janb5 - welcome to the club :)

    Catch you all tomorrow.

    Morning All
Did not realise we are now on 10 so have not been around for a few days. Had my WI this morning maintained again how depressing. I really need to be better, and definetely cut out the booze again. Went for a lovely work at a National Trust House yesterday to see all the snowdrops, really pretty. DId not play golf as it was raining but will do Pilates tonight and try to get there twice this week.
    Hope you are all well.

  • Hardly any posts over the weekend - where's everyone gone?

I have maintained this week, but not too bothered - went out for two meals last week, didn't get to the gym till wkend (so no time for weight to come off haha) and OH keeps buying and making naughty things - like potatoes swimming in double cream, and a whole box of mini rolls just for me! (Mind you, each mini roll was 130 cals = 13mins on the cross trainer - well worth it :D )

Also, whilst my scales weigh in pounds only (ie not half pounds) I reckon I've lost half a pound - last week scales skipping between 11 3 and 11 2 before finally coming to rest on 11 2, then today started on 11 1 before resting on 11 2...

This week will be very good diet wise but not sure how exercise will go - have this horrible cold/flu thing so can't see myself struggling to the gym after a 12 whole shift - I can barely lift my head off the desk LOL! (Don't get sick pay and don't work anywhere near others so always come to work when sick :( )

Lois please can you amend the chart that my total loss reads 3 lbs - I lost 2 lbs ages ago but put it back on before losing again :o

Good luck to everyone with weigh ins today... :p
