I'm off to a flying start with the 5lb challenge.:D I maintained:oRENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Well, that's more like it. 2lb loss this week- making my total 4 lbs. I'm really amazed at that loss because although Mon-Fri I was unwavering, saturday night we had some friends over and I had a glass of wine (or 3 or 4) and took the "Hey, who cares" attitude. I joined in sharing a pizza (:-O all that cheese!), a bag of maltesers and a tube of pringles (what a classy host I am eh?!). Then yesterday morning I was feeling slightly worse for wear and ate a sausage, mushroom and egg sandwich :-O.
So I was convinced that I would have maintained or maybe put on. Anyway, I feel bad now and am back on the straight and narrow. My weight loss so far is about 4lbs - not a lot but its coming off steadily. I'm starting to notice it now. I'm wearing a pair of trousers I bought at Xmas today and they keep falling down :-O. Unfortunatley it meant that the unlucky commuters on the train this morning got an eyeful of the top of my kecks when I got out of my seat. Poor them.0 -
Managed my 5 a day both Saturday and Sunday so keeping up with that.
Not doing too bad with my eating - I even refused chips from the chip shop last night!
Keep it up everyone and well done to everyone sticking to it.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Got to Boots before heading to Head Office. Lost 3lbs this is a big hurdle for me. I now weigh less than the last time I lost weight in 2003 :j Back then I lost 6 ish stone, in 6 months, was in a very turbulent time though and struggled, then I injured my knee twice in a season, then went back to work and promptly let all the weight creep back and a bit more!
Loopy-Loo - what size is it? would this be a Borat moment :rotfl: :rotfl:
The good thing catmeister and Tallgirl is that you didnt gain, that is something to be happy about, you both seem to know what went right or wrong for that matterMissmoneypenny, you seemed happy to maintian, so well done you
Well done ftbworried, Im sure giving the communters an eyeful was just your cheeky way of saying how good you feel
Plumpie, not knowing how much you gained, I understand there could be other reasons a lady can gain? Not thats Im an expert. Red Fraggle its not just exercise that would gain you a benefit as this could aid muscle build which could add weight! Sometimes the body gets stuck in a rut and needs a change to start off again?

My BMI has come down .8 to 28.9... thighs still the same....waist 42" from 46" 6 weeks ago....hips 1" in 6 weeks...slowly slowly catchy monkey:D
I hope all the rest of you lovely people have fantastic weight losses, if you maintain don't worry...it is not gaining....if you have put on....think about those lovely outfits calling your name:D0 -
Hi
Did my weigh in this morning as usual to find that at the end of week 5 I have only lost 0.4lb.
This follows last weeks loss of 0.6lb so only 1lb in two weeks, and will mean that I won't reach my target until June next year. I signed up for the 5lb loss by 5/3 challenge but like everything else it's wishful thinking. Not to mention that it'll be the LW743 thread!.
I could understand if, like some of you, I'd been out for meals etc but I have been so strict with myself and counted every calorie; I even did more walking including a 5+ mile walk (should have been 4miles according to the leaflet but dd and I got lost) through mud laden trails which made the going even worse. The week had gone so well without any cravings etc. and I was feeling less bulky so to only see such a meagre loss register on the scales yet again is a total bummer. The only thing left that I can do is to reduce my calorie intake to 1000 per day but, for me, that's in the misery zone.
So I give up and wish the rest of you better success, but my parting advice to all you 'youngsters' is that when you reach your target - keep it there- because the older you get the harder it is to lose weight.

(ps the recipe link seems to have gone perhaps some of the new members will find it useful)I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Oh petrichor, Dont leave us. What good will that do you? Sorry to sound mean but if you dont stick with it you could even weigh more in a few weeks time and how will you feel then? I have fluctuated between this same weight for the past 8 weeks now, 1/2 on , 1/2 off, 1 on, 1 off etc but I have stuck with it. It frustrates me yes but please please Dont give up Have you measured yourself? You may find that although you are not losing weight as such you may have lost inches and isnt that the main thing? Joe public doesnt know what you weigh, they just see you as you are. Have you spoken to your GP - perhaps you have thyroid or similar problems which would slow down weight loss
Are you eating enough - when you dont eat enough (of the right things) your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto what it has, hence not losing weight
Come on, pull yourself together, shoulders back, chin up, chest out - stick with it - you CAN do it.0 -
