  • I am expecting good things at s/w tonight. I have been good all week. I did go out on saturday night and had a few nibbles at a party. but hardly had anything to drink. When we got back to my friends she put a couple of pizza's in. Ham & pineapple yuk. and american hot which was far too hot for human consumption. Then in the morning when everyone was tucking into sausage sandwiches I was having weetabix and not feeling deprived. If only every week was like this. Is it only me that can't stand valentines day? My husband asked me what I wanted to do and I was like nothing. I don't even buy cards. I have put the same valentines cards out now for 5 years. My little boys bithday is the day after so they go streight back in the cupboard to make room for his cards!
    HOW MUCH ?

    Evening All,

Quick post. No loss this week. Doesn't seem fair after so little food and so much exercise, but that's the way it is sometimes.

To celebrate I'm meeting my best friend tonight for a slap up dinner! Hope everyone else has had a more successful weigh in than me. Well done to all the losers, and to those less fortunate (like me) we'll do better next week, eh?
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Sary- have you measured yourself? Perhaps with all the exercise you will have lost inches instead? Dont forget muscle weighs more than fat (not that I would know, but so I am told :rotfl:

    Enjoy your night out ;)
  • yaaay - loads of posts to read! KatieP are you having a party at your office?? I was just thinking about mini rolls when I read your post - at least I'm only in lust with them - too ill to be properly in love...!!

Well done to all of you who've done well, and good luck with tonight's weigh ins... Just to echo everyone else's advice to Petrichor really - don't give up! Try varying your diet, making sure you're not eating too little; eat small meals often... Also on the exercise note, to maximise fat burning potential you should be sweating (not buckets - think feminine glow) and be slightly out of breath. If you're not, rather than walking further, try going faster or up hills etc.

Suggs how do you have time for such mammoth cal burning sessions? I find if I want to be on the machine for any length of time it's 1min=10cals; obviously you're fitter and stronger than me, but even so I would guess with stretching, changing, showering and getting there, it would be taking at very least 2 hours?? You really are deserving of heroic status! When you reach your target will you be maintaining all the gym/aqua work?
If you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... DON'T SAY IT!
  • good news - apple, orange, grapes, blueberries, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms.
first day of five a day - achieved.

bad news - 1,6kg gain. soo very gutted. I did so well the first few months of my diet, lost 10 kg and the past 2 months its been up, down, up, down and generally more up that down. I'm now at a stage where strictly speaking i've only lost 7kg which is gutting. I stuck to the plan all week didn't go over the syns. Things wobbled a bit at weekend when i did gammon cooked in cranberry juice and then did some red cabbage in the juices. But i didn't have any other syns that day so i reckoned it may be okay. Then on sunday I got hte craving for something sweet so set to and made the choc chip cookies off the recipes thread. Well i must have done something wrong because they were more like little sponge cakes and not worth 4 syns each at all. So i consoled myself with a big bag or crisps and a bar of chocolate. I really hate myself at the moment. Matters are not helped by the fact that this week is going to be disaster as well - sales meeting weds lunchtime a real swine to food optimise, OH parents coming for tea on weds night; then out for lunch with work thurs lunch plus 'valentine's day' thurs night . . . . feel like i'm doomed before i start. Had planned a really nice meal for us for valentines day but feel like i have to just abandon it as it's about the only thing i have any control over this week. So very very fed up right now, even the combat class at the gym hasn't made me feel any better. Petrichor I know just how you feel, but I promise I won't give up if you won;t.

  • didn't make it to the gym  went to Focus to get a couple of plastic boxes for DD room only to find i couldn't bend
it hurts  am taking painkillers and hoping it will go soon !!!
  • Petrichor - don't give up. I've had a couple of bad weeks (gained and then stayed the same) and although I've stuck at it at the gym I really have been bad eating and drinking. The one thing that has kept me going has been looking at the posts on here. It's stopped me going completely off the rails and it has paid off as when I got weighed this evening I had lost 1.5kg (just over 3lbs) - not sure how but I am delighted and that has been enough to spur me on again.

None of us are saints and we all have our bad days (some of us more than others in my case!) but we all know what it's like to struggle with our weight and this board is really supportive.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
