This sounds like me. I have about 2.5 stone  to lose just to get to healthy bmi. I only lost 1 pound this week due to my cravings for sweet stodgy food.I have a few good days and then it all goes out the window! I feel like a hopeless case but having just read everyones posts it has got me motivated again. By the way can anyone tell me how to get my weight loss on the board?!

1lb. 1 blumming lb. I have been really good and I've just lost 1lb. I know a lb off is better than a lb on but I was expecting at least 2.
anyway rant over. just came home from s/w and it was buffet night. There were some lovely dishes. I have to take my 4 1/2 year old with me and she had 2nds & 3rds but at 2st 6lb she can afford to!HOW MUCH ?0 -
I lost a little this week - 1.3 lb. It's coming off slowly about 1lb each week, but i'm ok with that if it stays off!
Just wondered if anyone can make a suggestion? I always like something sweet to eat after lunch and it used to be a mars bar / kit kat or similar. I've worked it down to being a "snack sized" whatever, which is clearly better, but i'm finding chocolate like that too sweet now (never thought I'd say that!). I find that if i eat yogurt or fruit, i still want something else.
Can anyone suggest anything that will halt a chocolate craving, but isn't quite so sweet? Thanks!Proud to have become an Ocean Rower in 2010 (crossed the Atlantic in a crew of 4 ladies and had the best 77 days of my life!)0 -

How about dark chocolate, that's not as sweet as milk chocolate but still has that chocolate thing going on.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -

Suggs how do you have time for such mammoth cal burning sessions? I find if I want to be on the machine for any length of time it's 1min=10cals; obviously you're fitter and stronger than me, but even so I would guess with stretching, changing, showering and getting there, it would be taking at very least 2 hours?? You really are deserving of heroic status! When you reach your target will you be maintaining all the gym/aqua work?
Catmeister, I base my gym work around two pieces of equipment, cycle and the cross trainer, both of these I try to do at least 20 minutes on at high levels, 12 on the cycle and 10 on the cross trainer. Usually I can break 300 calories for the cycle and 400 on the cross trainer, though it is hard work. I always input all the data into the machines I use as I understand that the heavy you are the more calories you can burn. Some days last week I 'over' did things and took the cross trainer to 30 and 35 minutes. I do try the treadmill but after 5 or 6 minutes gentle jogging its gets a little sore and boring. Though this week I resolved to fast walk uphill instead. Years of playing rugby in the front row takes it toll.
Your probably right it does take around an hour in the gym, plus the time to shower, and travel gets it nearer 1hour 40min. Time wise? Im lucky that I now have a job were I can work from a local office or from home, only occasionly do I customer visits or go to head office, like today. But even then the kit bag was in the car and I drove straight to the gym and swam 800metres.
Im certainly not heroic, a I know I am overdoing it slightly, I do aim to use the gym and pool work as a tool to aid maintaining my weight once I get to a weight Im comfortable with.
Thanks for asking, Hope I didn't bore you too much.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................
