Karren I'm so very sorry to hear your terrible news. Sometimes the only thing you can do is celebrate the fact that your friend had time to leave such a wonderful legacy. Hugs to all of you.

I've had a lovely day out with my son in Leeds today. He and his fiancee are just back from a holiday in New York (where my friend and I are going 4weeks today - I'm so excited, lol), and we spent a couple of hours looking at their photos and the rest of the time wandering about the shops, nattering.

Had a healthy lunch but then spoilt it by going to Starbucks for a Cinnamon latte (don't even want to guess the syns). Still, it will be a while before it happens again and it was worth it!!

Well done on your 2½lb loss juliejim, be specially good next week or that chocolate may rear it's ugly head next weigh-day :D

katiepoppycat and victory did you enjoy Hot Fuzz?? I went to see it on monday (took my own home made popcorn and a box of raisins in my handbag!!), and i loved it. plenty of laugh out loud moments, but i wasnt keen on the gruesome bits. The bit in somerfields had me roaring with laughter!! Loved all the references to Shaun of the Dead too.
I'm so pleased that Simon Pegg stays truely british, and is taking 'going down the pub' to hollywood!!!!!

had a terrible night last night - drank 7 pints of snakebite and blackcurrant!! dont even want to think about the calorific content!!!! also had a plate of chips for dinner in the pub! why do we do this to ourselves??!!!??!
Felt a bit rough this morning as you can imagine, so slept in and didn't eat til lunch (lovely grilled king prawns and thai style rice with veg in the new cafe at uni - only a fiver!!) then had HM fish and chips (breaded haddock and oven cooked chunky chips from scratch with salad and baked beans) for dinner. My housemate made coconut cake so i had a bit of that and a glass of red wine while i watched ER . I think Ray, Gates, Pratt, Kovac.....etc... should all be added to the sexy men from tv shows list!! dont watch CSI but might have to start after hearing you lot go on!!

So not a v good day, though did fit in a quick game of squash this afternoon (OH beat me as usual!). Off to the gym tomorrow, need to work off the beer belly i seem to have developed after last night!!

Hope everyone's well and having fun. Kat xx

Don't despair TallGirl - it's a long road for all of us. Climb back on the wagon!

When I'm overstretched, I often feel put upon and find myself with consoling my self with high-calorie food. I know it's crazy but it just gives me 2 things to worry about eventually - the stressful thing and the fact that I'm overweight.

I should imagine planning is the key. (It usually is.)

katmad i absolutely loved hot fuzz. I eve nstayed till the end in the hope there would be some secret scenes but there weren't. Had a really nice meal last night - marinaded pork chops with kale and home made tartare sauce. The combination sounds a bit mad but it was gorgeous. The marinade was equal parts maple syrup and olive oil with a half measure of smoked paprika. I cut down the amounts to make it more SW friendly and i reckon i got it to 5 syns. Net time I'll try a few squirts of fry light for some of the oil and se if I can make it better - I worked it out to 5 syns. Off to do the food shopping later - virtually every meal next week is out of SW mag so I'm feeling like a good girl. Don't get down Tallgirl, you'll get there. Sometimes you just want to eat rubbish and can't figure out why. you'll move on and do better. I hope you enjoyed your treats though!

had a veg stir fry for lunch with a bit of rice. yum!!

Got a friend's birthday party tonight, so i'm going to take two cheap lidl alcopops with me (rum, lemon and lime) and then drink juice/water/diet coke all night.

    Hope everyone's having a good friday!! x
