Hi Lois - I lost 1 pound today so that takes me over my 1st stone since rejoining slimming world. If I am totally honest I did expect to lose more than that. I follow the plan to the letter, and even had one day in the gym where I walked further than I have done in years!
Hopefully it will catch up to me next week as I have noticed that I tend to have a small loss every 2nd week!
I will be going back to the gym this afternoon for my programme so am looking forward to that.:j
I have just cooked some SW chips and had them with some quorn sausages a 2 fried eggs (2 syns). I feel really full now!:o
Consultant - my heart goes out to you. I can not even begin to think how you must be feeling. Just remember that we are all here for you and sending positive thoughts and wishes. :A
All the best
MarionWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Hi everyone.
Had a so-so week so far. Not been bad, but not that good either - been nibbling at biscuits etc. Weigh in is on Weds, so I've got a few days to sort myself out.
Welcome Katmad - I'm quite new too - I find this place really helps me stay on the straight and narrow.
Freebiehunter - well done on your loss - that's fantastic :T
And to the rest of you, well done/good luck/keep at it (delete as applicable!)
Oh, and I've made a discovery that I think is going to be my saviour! Tesco Healthy Living oven chips - only 1 syn on Green days! I do like SW chips, but there's just those days when you can't be bothered. I find 300g of chips plenty, so that's only 3 syns! Yay!0 -
Just a quick post to thank everyone for their kind thoughts re my Dad. The Doc came this morning and feels that it may be a urinary infection caused by not drinking enough water (so you were spot on Tallgirl). Anyway he's got a load of tablets to take, though heaven knows if Mum will be able to get them down him. He's adamant there's nothing wrong with him and that it's Mum who's ill. I hardly slept last night, but it's rarely as bad as you expect is it? Hopefully a couple of days on the pills will see him sorting out. It's true, you expect your parents to always be there and it comes hard when you suddenly realise they got old overnight!!
Dashing here and there now, so don't know when I'll get chance to catch up with you again. Well done to the losers, welcome to the new member and again, thanks for all your good wishes (it made me cry this morning!)
Back soon I hope :wave:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hello, I'm a relative newbie to this FABULOUS site, and have only just found this thread! I know it's been mentioned in various parts of the site (first found on one of the diabetes threads) but I took up the free dietfreedom.co.uk trial and am doing REALLY well. Another pound off this week. It has been quite a revelation that just a few adjustments could make such a difference. OH who is diabetic is over the moon! Oh and yes, it really was a free trial, I have signed up now to pay and got all my remaining free days credited - nice!
Some great weight loss stories on here too, it is very inspiring, so thanks very much for sharing. I have always been a bit head in the sand about dieting and rather did it on the quiet and very obsessively, losing weight and piling it back on like a woman possessed (not good for health). The low carb / GI think made sense and helped me slow down on the 'starve or gorge' eating patterns but was very complicated for my poor old brain and on the carb front still involved all that counting and weighing stuff that I HATE. But this GL thing is MUCH easier (for me anyway!).
I'd love to join in a bit here too if that is ok, it's a friendly thread and you have inspired me today to still greater things! :A

Lol - it's seems today is a day of insipration for several of us! I found 'thread 9' while searching the net for somewhere to buy savoury mince beanfeast (can't find it around here for love nor money!) last Friday and spent the weekend toying with the idea of joining in.
I am terribly disorganised when it comes to my eating habits. Sometimes I don't eat enough and sometimes I leave it too late to make something and end up with a takeaway late at night. I know the SW diet and enjoy the vast variety of food you can eat so it's purely my laziness in making and sticking too menus that is my downfall.
I've browsed most of this thread already so I'd like to wish special congratulations to those who reached a milestone today - losing a stone in weight is a great achievement.
I was going to rejoin SW but in what I hope is true MoneySaving fashion will now throw the fees into a jar and pay off some of my debts with it
I have three milestone dates coming up - the first being the 21st of March when I have to lose 8 pounds to get back into a suit I only bought last August! I'll weigh myself tonight, make up a junk free shopping list and get cracking tomorrow.0 -
Hiya- reporting a loss of 1lb. Probably more as I seem to have got this tummy bug going the rounds so it is likely to be more! Will add it to next week.

Like you Suggs I feel so stupid now about throwing the toys out thingy but it gets you like that doesn't it, as others have said we are all here to help and listen.
Petrichor - Your spot on, I know I shouldnt have checked, but I was sooooo sure I was doing well. My fault and to be honest I am glad the 1lb loss was there for me. It got to me as I probably thought it was my best week of the year so far!
Good on you for coming back and keep going

Hi
Just thought I'd have a quick visit to congratulate those that have lost this week especially keatergreyhound on losing her 1st stone - well done.
Welcome to even more newcomers  we are getting to be very popular aren't we!! page 13 already. I'm like you Eriqueen in that I'm trying to do this without joining a club, and I'm finding this better in that I get motivation all through the week via this thread whereas when I used to go to WW there was no one to talk to between classes, so I hope you succeed.
DD and I have had to resort to a MSE style of gym and have purchased a Twist & Shape Mini Stepper (half price via Boots online) and it arrived today. The instructions suggest you start by doing 15-20 mins on the lightest setting but whoever wrote that was obviously a sadist - I was shaking after 5mins and had to stop, so I've got to build up to beginner status
I used to use a rowing machine, still have it actually, but after a few minutes it starts making a farting type of noise and it quite puts you off :rotfl: Will have to see if OH can sort it out. With my level of fitness I daren't set foot inside a gym.
xxxxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Well done all of you who have lost - and in fact maintained. I feel really fed up but only have myself to blame. I have eaten loads of rubbish this week on and off and didn't deserve to lose, but I also have slogged my guts out at the gym. I have actually put on a pound so I am going to have to really knuckle down.
Apologies but feeling really sorry for myself. I have had a bit of an upset with 16 year old DD and it has really got to me. Went to the gym to try and get those endorphins going, but got weighed, found out I had gained and then found the gym a struggle. On the way home I went and got a pack of eccles cakes and a pack of liquorice allsorts and ate the lot. Didn't even taste them. Always comfort eat when something goes wrong and now I feel even worse.
Sorry for the moan - sure I will feel so much better tomorrow.Proud to be dealing with my debts0
