Going away for the weekend so won't be around. Don't know what that's going to do to my weight loss!

  • My husband and I went down to our local leisure centre today and have signed up for a years gym membership!

    Well done :T :T :T
I am the type of person who doesn't like to waste money so I will go regularly to ensure I get my moneys worth;)

This reminds me of a friend of mine who was always trying to tell me I should sign up to the most expensive gym so that I'd be guilt-ridden into going - as a student her membership was £80pcm    (But her thighs could crack walnuts :rotfl: :rotfl: )
My fears are that I know I am so unfit - I am out of breath and my legs are shaking after a walk around the block!! Do you think they will take the p*ss when they see how little I can do?

Of course they won't! You're the paying customer and they're interested in giving you the best programme for you - if they intimidate you they know you won't come back, so they lose money in the long run! I think more and more gyms are becoming the preserve of 'normal' people - at my gym more than half are people who've come for a 10/20/30 min walk on the treadmill coupled with some stretching - slowly slowly catchy monkey and all that... ;)

So good luck today, and have fun :p Great that you and your husband are going together - Consultant's right, exercising ends up giving you energy from stimulating the bloodflow and getting those endorphins flowing so before you know it you'll both be looking good, feeling great ;);)
If you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... DON'T SAY IT!

    Hello,

I have never posted on this forum (usually elsewhere on MSE). I hope no one minds.

I am needing to shift at least two stone before the end of June (having stupidly put on a lot of weight again which I had already lost).

I have done the points system on WW before with a lot of success. However, I am more interested in the Core plan this time as from what i can gather it is about cooking with whole foods (and thereby hopefully saving money!!!).

I just need to get the list together of what foods are allowed!!

Happy slimming to all and i Look forward to reading your posts.

    Morning all

Hope we are all doing well.

I cheated and went to Boots this morning, Wearing Polo Shirt and Chinos and was full of hope after 4 gym sessions, one swimming session (half mile) and an aquacise session. Have only had one bad day and that was Nandos chicken, rice and chips with my OH on Valentines.

So why did I put on 5lb!! since last Saturday  This is were my logic flies out the window, 1 or 2lb maybe, but 5!!!

To illustrate how this gets to me, I now want to go to the gym today as Im so annoyed and frustrated with myself.

  • Hi Everyone

Please may I apologise for feeling so darned sorry for myself on Monday, there were other issues but the low weight loss this week was the last straw and sent me spiralling down to the underworld, it really is the least of my problems when I prioritise them. I feel so stupid now :o

Thanks to consultant for the pm it really did help me - to all the newbies she is the motherhen to us all on this thread.

I started yesterday evening, reading all the posts made since Monday (7 pages good grief!!) Thanks to all of you for the kind words and advice, I think I've clicked the Thanks buttons but I apologise if I've missed one out. You've made me feel quite ashamed and selfish especially as there were others of you who didn't have any loss at all or just not what was expected etc.

I would have apologised yesterday but having had to pause over the pictures of Suggs in his younger days :D then coming across the following post which cracked me up and I didn't have time to carry on to the end:
    Catmeister wrote:
.... (I know, turn me over and spank me thin... I wish!!)

:rotfl: :rotfl: It's the first laugh I've had this week, I shall make a point of remembering this the next time the weight loss doesn't go as wanted - in fact I might incorporate it into my signature if you don't mind?

I finished off the rest of the posts today and what a wealth of ideas such as Non diet days and Day One Club etc however I'm still trying to come to terms with eating a whole raw swede but if it works hey why not?

Like the rest of you I'm awaiting retiredlady's post re the Gym - what an incentive to those of us that would like to join but daren't, hmm you never know; and Suggs please note that it is only a 'water gain' don't let it get you down (that's rich coming from me).

Oh before I go I have another piece of advice - Don't let your offspring know your user name, they monitor your musings.

    xxxxxxxxxxx

(DD :p Is that apologetic enough? xx)
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Well ive autually got a day off today and am spending at at home with very little voice. I am told I sound like daffy duck on viagra. Well that made me laugh if nothing else will. I hate being ill. If th weather and me had have been better I could have took DD out for a walk in her pram.
Im working all weekend as well
On days like these (my other half calls them PJS days) you know the ones you really sonr do much as you feel like poo should you still be eating as much as normal as theres no way I can burn it off. Also im worried about the amount of suger in lockets and lemsips.
Something tells me I should just try and get better as ive got to leave for work at 5.15am tommorow morning
