    Morning all
Hope you had a lovely Valentines Night those of you who celebrated. DH cooked a jacket potato for me ready for when I got back from the gym and we had some Cava. We did not get married on Valentines Day but we did have 2 weddings so to speak. We married on the beach in Mauritious 21st May and then had a party at home. It was just the two of us so none of our friends remember the 21st either. We then had a church blessing in my old family church in Denmark in August the same year and I cannot remember the date either. We had been together 12 years before we got married so wanted to do it in style but no good with the dates. This year I hope we can go away in May for our Anniversary.

Been good myself this week twice to the gym but a bit too much of the old vino will try to see if I can do the 7 glass challenge again next week. Off to Reading today so must get a move on as the trafic is rubbish.

Weigh in time for me. Only 1/2 off this week  I was a little disappointed at first, but then I thought of the absolute blow out I had after weigh in last week (large glass wine, small glass wine, cheese & bacon burger, chips & onion rings, followed by belgian waffle & ice cream!) and it seemed quite good actually! Sounds horrendous, but after weigh in last week, I was about ready to jack it all in, but after my blow out, I woke up the next morning feeling ready to have a really good week :)
So, now blow out this week, and hopefully a bit more will come off:D
  • Morning all!

Had a chuckle at the thought of you sitting there munching on a whole swede ThriftyK, but if it did the trick for you, great! I like swede too, but it's such a pig to prepare isn't it. I usually stab it with the pointy end of a long chef's knife and batter it on the floor till bits break off :rotfl:

To the people who are having trouble 'going' - it may be worthwhile to use something gentle like Fibogel. It contains psyllium husks which are naturally fibrous and should help establish a pattern without having to use it for ever. My Mum has used it for years for diverticular disease, but she says it's not unpleasant and it certainly works. You have to mix it with water and drink quickly or it thickens to a solid gel. Hope that helps someone.

I'm still not fancying much in the way of food, though I'm visiting Mum & Dad today, so I've no doubt my lunch will be enough to feed a small country!!! They've learned that I must have a SW friendly lunch, which is good, but you wouldn't believe how much they expect me to wade through. Then they make up a doggy bag for me to take home for my tea :rotfl:

Just booked to do the Race for Life this summer with my elder daughter. We missed out last year with waiting for half a dozen other people to make up their mind which one they wanted to do (there are several within a few miles of us) and ended up with all of them full. It's highly unlikely I shall be running as I have dodgy ankles, but I'm looking forward to doing it at a sedate pace!!

Well done KatieP, every little helps :D Look at the next pack of butter (marg) you buy and you'll see that ½lb is a chunk off!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Morning all :hello:

hope everyone had a good day yesterday :happyhear suggs that was so sweet, your wishes really made me smile :D

i've decided that half-term is not conducive (sp) to healthy eating so am having the rest of the week off :o i've got healthy dinners planned which is fine but i keep feeling guilty cos i'm having sandwiches at lunch instead of salad & i have no willpower when DD has crisps or sweets & we baked chocolate cake yesterday

anyway will be back on Monday with my gain :p and day 1 again

enjoy the rest of the hols everyone.

I suffer quite a lot from u colitis and ibs. The troube with fibogel is its like drinking facial scrub. I could never get the whole lot down without it setting either and I always wanted to throw up half way through drinking it. I find lactulose which can be bought over the counter is a lot nicer and gentler. It's a sweet tasting liquid that you take at bed time and in the morning to u get going again. It's a lot better than senna tablets as well I always find these work a bit too quick. hope this helps.
    HOW MUCH ?
  • Well if you're having trouble 'going' I can recommend the swede effect! Having munched my way through that swede last night have had problems keeping away from the bathroom this morning. Can't think it was anything else that has upset my stomach so it would seem that as well as stopping me nibbling it may have helped speed up the weight losing process too. Not sure I recommend this course of action though!:rotfl:
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Glad to see you're back Consultant sorry to hear you've been poorly.

I've lost 2lb so I got my .5 stone award last night.

Left early as it was Valentine's day to spend some time with DH but when I got to the car it wouldn't start so I had to call the breakdown people out. When I got home DH was in bed!

Afternoon all hope everyone enjoyed valentines day and got loads of nice things i had a huge bunch of white roses and lilys with belgian choccies but because im allergic to nuts i couldnt eat any  so OH and baby munched thru them, i also went to weigh in and i stayed the same which i was surprised at thought i might of had a slight gain but i've done a fair bit of walking this week so that might of kept it off.

Whatever works has to be a good thing. Fortunately I never have this problem myself, but I can imagine it making the sufferer feel rough. I find sweetcorn is the thing that sends me to the loo within about an hour of eating it. I love it too, so it's no trouble to eat in vast quantities.

Ooh Thrifty, my bum sympathises :rotfl:
