A minor derail but I have checked my account and they have tweaked the DD amounts from next month in an upward direction. It only says this when you select view the detailed bill.

It doesnt seem to be everyone but its worth checking as you can phone them up and argue it downwards if you think its too high.

    Hello,

Just thought I would update this thread with some good news for once, it appears my switch over to Click Energy 2 has worked perfectly. I am shocked, stunned and well surprised.

Checked my Click Energy account today and I had a bill which clearly made the distinction on the 12th March from the old Click 1 rates to the cheaper Click 2 rates.

It was estimated for the 12th which is my fault for not submitting a reading. Doh!

What I have noticed, the past two months I have submitted readings and they have been ignored which is a tad worrying. I use to update my Click account each month and within a couple of hours the system had loaded my new reading.

Now I get a very manually looking "We will update your reading within 5 working days" when I click the submit button which suggests its now done by a human and you guessed it, it never seems to get done....

    *sigh*

    :)

I am really fed up with the click energy situation.

British gas has recently been getting good publicity regarding its energy prices and recent pricecuts.

In a recent press release: 'Centrica news April 2007' they claimed that

"Click Energy remains the cheapest energy tariff on the market."

which is patently not true - there have been NO price cuts this year for click energy customers and it is now an expensive deal.

Maybe they were referring to the 'Click Energy 2' tariff (NOT click energy) which does seem to be a good deal but is not open to all customers (eg myself, as does not offer an Economy 7 tariff).

BG seems to be using the same trick that banks have used for years - a good headline 'rate' to woo new customers while longstanding customers are fleeced on poorly priced 'old' schemes.

To add insult to injury, I keep receiving email messages from British Gas PR department telling me how good their price cuts are - and yet I have received no price cuts.

I can only agree with jazzmanz: " I had deep reservations about changing to British Gas last July and their company culture is far worse than I believed possible."

I suppose this might seem like a pointless rant - but it makes me feel better ....... especially now that I am an ex British Gas customer!

Well I have been, and still am, on click energy (1) and my last quater bills (for both gas and elec) recieved last week show 2 price cuts, 1 on 12th March and 1 on 26th April so I assume click prices were cut along with others by British Gas.

I think if British Gas made things clearer we would not have all this confusion - I still don't know whether to stay on click one, move to click 2 or leave BG altogether!!!

According to a brief British Gas advertisement in my Sunday paper, for customers to receive the benefit of the price fall you do nothing – they’ll do it.

And say they are writing to everyone on direct debit or price protection plans with information.

I’ve no doubt current Click Energy rates will fall but whether current Click Energy customers are moved to the Click Energy 2 rate is still unclear.

I would think BG is being inundated with enquiries about what is happening when all they need to do is sent out an explanatory email now not later.

As I said, my click energy rates have been reduced - I also had a letter from BG explaining as much for the last price decrease as posted earlier in this thread...
