Hmm, Click Energy 2 for my Electricity is now looking a bit cheaper than Click Energy due to some recent changes listed on energylinx and energyhelpline.

Has anyone changed over yet? Do you just call BG up and ask to switch?

Can anyone see a reason NOT to switch from Click to Click 2?

    Thanks,

    Mike

PS Quidco seems to let you use their links even as an existing customer to *upgrade* to Click Energy 2, the links work but I have not gone through the full process as I am still not convinced about Click 2. But it might supply you with a few pennies, if mine works it would be £20 for a single fuel switch.

Stormy, as far as I'm aware there is a three month tie in to click 2, so if you are thinking of swapping to another provider or tariff it may be worth waiting until the dust has settled.

“No cancellation fee and no tie-ins.” is shown in bold print on the Click2 site.

I took from that it would be the normal 28 day cancellation period!!

Yup, and I've checked the terms and conditions and there's nothing in there either. They did initially say there was a tie in when they launched it, but they must have changed their minds now.

Hmmm, so looking at the facts we have there does not really seem to be a reason not to switch from Click Energy to Click Energy 2, the website seems to allow you to enter your existing customer details prior to the 12th March.

Lets hope there are no hidden problems with switching!

    Cheers,

    Mike

You want to move from Click Energy to Click Energy 2 - what do you have to do to make it happen? Me nothing.

I’m already a Click Energy (dual fuel) customer with a registered online Click Energy account (i.e. entering meter readings etc). I’ve been assured by BG I do not have to do anything - I’ll be automatically transferred to Click Energy 2 on 12 March 07.

I gleaned that key to this is being currently registered online as a Click Energy customer and keeping up to date with readings/payments etc.

Is this written down anyplace as I was thinking of changing to click 2 manually (currently on click).

It’s not written down anywhere to my knowledge. Above in this thread it was mentioned you would have to actually “switch” to move from Click to Click 2 but I just did not see the logic in that.

So for my own satisfaction I telephoned BG (today); after verifying my account I was told I would be transferred automatically without having to do anything.

Can only assume those in like shoes will be transferred by default in the same way.

For what its worth, I did it manually and got the following email:

    Dear Mr Myers,

    CONGRATULATIONS!

You have now converted your existing electricity account to Click Energy 2, which means you will now benefit from our low electricity rates.

    YOUR NEW RATES:

Find out your new electricity rates for Click Energy 2 by visiting https://www.house.co.uk/clickenergy2rates.

The Click Energy web pages, although still there (with errors), are not being actively linked to by the rest of the BG website. This gives me the impression that Click 2 is replacing Click, which would make sense reading the comments here.

However, if this is the case, where does this leave Click Energy economy 7 customers? - Click Energy 2 does not accept two rate metered supplies.

Anyone on Click Energy economy 7 electricity able to confirm what is happening?
