British Gas - Click Energy or Click Energy 2

Options
I am currently a BG Click Energy customer and having looked at the price comparison site there is a Click Energy 2 account that would give me savings of about £140.
Does anyone know if C E 2 has been launched to coincide with yesterday's price decrease announcement?
Will the price decrease announced apply to both accounts on March 12th?

Any info would be appreciated.

I suspect Click2 may be replacing Click Energy. As far as I can see, BG don't seem to be promoting Click Energy anymore, or actively linking to the Click Energy web pages - and the prices which were bumped up recently haven't been reduced in line with the others.

Click energy prices can be found from the link on here

The new Click2 product prices are reduced, the new prices are here...

Unfortunately for economy7 customers, Click2 does not currently seem to accept two-rate metering...

After my experience with Click Energy Zero (ie nothing happens except BG take the money). Click2 couldn't be any worse. :D
  • It's taken me nearly 6 months from sign-up to get my gas and electricity onto Click Energy correctly - and I was an existing BG customer! Only got the corrected bill last week.

If Click Energy prices aren't being dropped I'm not sure I have the patience to re-register with Click 2. If anyone can confirm paul_h's comment from talking to BG do please let us all know.

As soon as Martin gives us the green light I think I'll be on the phone to npower for Signonline. (sigh)

LOL at Click zero - ohhh yes!

I signed up for Click Energy just a few weeks ago but BG are convinced I have a prepayment meter (I don't) so are not collecting the direct debit!

Two men have been out to my home already and seen I do not have a prepayment meter, but the message does not seem to permeate back to those in BG.

I have now taken my complaint to EnergyWatch.

If anyone knows the answer to this I'd like to know too! Also did a price comparison and it suggests Click Energy 2 will be £120 per year cheaper than Click Energy (which I'm currently on). Knowing British Gas though my money is on current Click Energy customers not being automatically switched.

Another Click Energy customer interested to know what Click Energy 2 is and if Click Energy prices are due to come down in line with British Gas's announced reductions... Any clues anyone???

I'm on click energy too. I currently have £1.90 of credit in my account after cancelling the DD due to their ridiculous £45 pcm estimate (coldest month and currently using £25 per month).

It took many phone calls to sort the tariff properly.

I'm off to Uswitch to see what the prices look like.

According to those links Click Energy 2 is MORE expensive than Click Energy yet the file that the Click Energy 2 price links to seems to quote "standard prices" and not Click prices??

Also, are Click Energy prices going to be lowered in line with the reductions? I am like £120 in credit at the moment and thats after a bill last week.

  • BG Click Energy Gas prices:

    1 to 4572 kwh = (*3.325p) (**3.738p). (***4.382p)
    4573 kwh onwards = (*2.553p) (**2.869p) (***2.231p)

    * = Click Energy pre Jan. ** = Click Energy now. *** = Click Energy 2.

    **********************************************************

For example, using a specimen yearly usage of 20000kwh of gas paying direct debit excluding the discounts:

Click Energy Gas pre Jan - The “standing charge” is 3.325 – 2.553 = 0.772 x 4572 = £35.29 per year or £2.94 per month. With all units then priced at 2.553p.

    Therefore 20000 kwh for the year would cost: 20000 x 2.553p = £510.60 + £35.29 = £545.89 per year.

Click Energy now Gas - The “standing charge” is 3.738 – 2.869 = 0.869 x 4572 = £39.73 per year or £3.31 per month. With all units then priced at 2.869p.

    Therefore 20000 kwh for the year would cost: 20000 x 2.869p = £573.80 + £39.73 = £613.53 per year.

    Click Energy 2 Gas - The “standing charge” is 4.382 – 2.231 = 2.151 x 4572 = £98.34 per year or £8.19 per month.

    Therefore 20000 kwh for the year would cost 20000 x 2.231p = £446.20 + £98.34 = £544.54 per year.

    **********************************************************

On this example prices have gone from £545.89 (pre Jan) to £613.53 (currently) to £544.54 (Click Energy 2.

The bottom line, as I can see, is the Click Energy 2 prices have just gone back to pre Jan prices with only about a £1 difference between Click Energy 2 and pre Jan prices.

PS: Any correction of figures appreciated. I ran out of energy to do electric.

Yeh, I dont actually get Gas on Click, only Electricity. I am still trying to find out IF existing Click Energy customers are getting a cut in prices. By the looks of it we are not.
