    Hello everyone!!

We are back!. Hard choice through;) although I was wilting in 45 degree heat for the last few days...it was gorgeous to be in weeks and weeks of warmth.

Was a bit anxious that we would be sleeping on the floor of Heathrow..but were some of the lucky ones and got home and collected safely. My heart goes out to those who have had such problems...

Wouldn't have happened the day before though...we would have been stranded. Bristol was in chaos!

The holiday was great. Awesome..as the Kiwis say! ( a lot) :rotfl: The family loved it and we saw some amazing stuff. Didnt get to check in with Mrs Box of Fluffies tho which I was sad about..will check out her diary later today and apologise. And OH and I truly left work behind us..usually we are logging on to check work stuff at least once a day. But the combination of time difference and no Internet connection for many weeks meant that we just left it all behind. Wonderful.

Thanks for all the NY messages everyone! I am looking forward to catching up with you all ...but have to also unpack..and the new WM only arrives ( snow permitting) tomorrow. Yes it packed up the day before we left. Such timing but what are neighbours for!!?! We ordered one to be delivered, using a discount voucher and getting lots of points on our C@op card tomorrow before we left for hols.

Money wise..well....we did spend a lot but we kept a record of everything and some things, like diesel, were almost half the price. We also had NSDs and lots of free camping. When I have been online I have been neatening up the current account( thanks Tilly!) so some mitigation work.

I am thinking about paying off the Halifax CC ( we took this as it charges nothing for overseas purchases)with some of my OP pot as otherwise we will be paying interest. As we havent touched out Current account we also have a surplus in there to move across. We also have dollars to change back and some money still on our Caxton FX card ( which was great btw....recommended on MSE and it was great to be able to get cash at no charge).

We are also eating from the store cupbord this week so only fresh veggies and milk to buy. BM is on already this weekend and again this morning. Made a venison pie yesterday, HM pastry and defrosted venison. Yum. Had leftover pastry and made jam tarts.

On a sadder note, our oldest chook, ( my favourite) didn't make it though so we had a funeral yesterday. She was lovely and I feel rather sad.

Have loads to unpack now and am watching the forecast uneasily. Not looking forward to travelling tomorrow..will check in wth work and see whether it's possible to work from home and do a few con calls instead.
