One piece of advice, kicking the sofa is better than the baby, as I'll explain to my colic child, when she grows up.

Al Mac, thats about the best advice I've heard.....! or if you wanna save the sofa phone a friend and ask them to come round and take baby for a walk in a buggy.... Or maybe drive round aimlesly in the car.... I guess Al Mac'l know what I mean and I hope you never find out plasticman - colic sucks!!

Our baby boy was born today and baby & mum are both doing fine. We think we have agreed on a name - I'll see if my wife has changed her mind when I get back to the hospital in the morning. :D

Wonderful news and congratulations to the three of you.

It brings it all back to me, After the birth of our first child on Christmas day morning, a month early, I tried to ring my mum to let her know from a payphone at the hospital and didn't understand why they couldn't hear me when they picked up the phone, on about the fourth attempt I pressed the big blue button and miraculously they could hear me.

An hour later my brother-in-law picked me up halfway through walking home and asked me what I was doing walking in the rain, I hadn't even noticed.
Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.

am i the only person to think that children do NOT want to know where their parents did the deed? although i'm named sharon i doubt my parents went to palestine on honeymoon. oh god, what if there was some bizarre fruit eating devil worshipping orgiastic ritual that all the kids did back then? i'm named after a persimmon

IIRC Sharon isn't named after the fruit, the fruit is named after Sharon. It means "plain" as in large fields.

Your mum and dad Did It in a field :D
