The French refer to the Brits as 'roast beefs' (rosbif) in the same way as we use the term frog!

It's used by french people as a derogatory term for the English, in much the same way as we call them "frogs", you are what you eat !

lol! so should i name my baby paris, or disney, or after the hotel we were in? so many choices :-)

am i the only person to think that children do NOT want to know where their parents did the deed?

Hehe! In that case, perhaps I should call my bump 'Caru'. Caru Griffiths, sounds like a good Welsh name... but actually stands for Cardiff Assisted Reproduction Unit. Or if it's a girl I could be really naff and call it Ivy F. Griffiths.

We seem to have more girls names lined up than boys, and there's loads that I like but husband hates.
Current joint favourites for girls are Heather, Lucy, Isobel and Rose. For boys we only have Adam and Daniel. I think it's going to be a case of "who does it look like" when it pops out.

Naffest name I've heard recently, is "Bethlehem" for a girl born last Christmas Day. "Oh, we're going to call her Beth" the parents say.
So if it's going to be shortened all the time anyway, why not call her Bethan, Bethany, or even Elizabeth and not burden the poor mite for life with bloomin' Bethlehem?!

is bethany also some place to do with the birth of jesus? our town has a homeless shelter named the bethany project.

i like all the names on your list, when's your bump due? ivy f. made me giggle :D glad your treatment worked. mine's 17th july but i'm keeping my fingers (and legs!) crossed that he'll arrive after the kids break up for summer hols because i'm not the most organised person at the best of times, i can't imagine getting spud to school on time if i have a new baby :o spud will probably be 9 when squid (the new baby is born).

Come to think of it, you're right, Bethany does have biblical connections. I suppose I'm just more used to it as a name than Bethlehem.

Mine's not due till 3rd September, but I've suddenly sprouted a definite bump that has appeared in the last week. Everyone keeps going "Ooh, look at that!" and poking it LOL. Currently we can't decide if we want to know the sex or not. I don't think I could stand it if I knew they could tell but I didn't know. But then I'd probably be convinced afterwards that they'd got it wrong, so I wouldn't believe them anyway!

Going back to names, I told my mum that we liked Aloysius for a boy, after Sebastian's bear in Brideshead Revisited... just to see what she'd say. She fell for it & tried to be very diplomatic...lots of "Oh, yes, mmm, how unusual" type comments. I think she's quite worried now , so I'll put her out of her misery soon, hehe!

giggle! i considered telling mum in law that i'm calling the new one 'rainbow' but decided against it :-)

when i had my first baby they said they were only 70% certain he was a boy but with this baby it's a hundred percent certain, no doubt about it lol! my family were pleased my first baby was a boy because i'd chosen tabitha for a girl and everyone hated it :-)

    congrats on your bump :-)
