Today not been a good day, thinking loads unable to distract myself, im just so lonely, need to make friends, but don't know where to start...

    Tiny steps.

Small things like talking to someone in a shop, or knocking on next doors and introducing yourself (or if you know then asking them if they've got time for a brew)

Make a list of things like swimming pool opening times. Go swim for an hour a couple of times a week. Really. It's good for you.
Go to the library. Most are most social than they used to be. Ask about reading groups - or what events they have on. You can organise yourself a social life without any major outlay or commitment or needing to go with someone.
See if there's a social group for people your age. Volunteer when you're feeling stronger - there's always somewhere looking for help.

And make a list of all the things you don't want to get done but have to relating to house etc
