Alison thank u. I got a travel system too! But it's so big and heavy. Was hoping to get something small and nifty for around town. Not to worry!Mummy of 2 DD. July 2010 & December 2011.:eek:0 -
Hi can I join please? I had my son (Thom) by emcs due to pre eclampsia on 12th January at 36+3 weighing 5lbs. He had to stay in neonatal for 6 days so we'll have had him home with us a week tomorrow! he was 4lb 9 when he left hospital 6 days ago - midwife weighed him this morning and hes gone up to 5lbs 7 which the midwife was impressed with. We've been signed off from the midwife anyway (did anyone else feel a bit sad when they waved goodbye?? I've had daily visits from them for weeks! lol) so just me under dr care now.
Hope to get to know you all anyway!May Grocery Challenge -£216/4000 -

Thanks for the nappy recommendations. I need somewhere I can (hopefully) switch some of my stockpile, so I guess my next option is supermarket own brands? Just popped into Boots while I was out and traded two packs for Nature Babycare, but they're the only store I know that does them, it's 15 miles away, and I don't think they'll take another 8 or 10 packs!
Popped a huggie on in case he pooed while we were out, got back and he was wet again! Shame, as I really like them other than that they don't actually work. Pampers smell nasty I think.
The only reason i've not started the reusables was I decided to break myself in gently with some bargain disposables for the first few weeks. He's easily big enough at over 9 pounds. With a new outfit several times a day though, I may as well be washing nappies! Dunno what to do with all the disposables if I switch early though?
Oh, is it worth me trying any of my size 2 huggies, or have you found that, if one size is no good for your baby, none of them are?
At two weeks today, we've already breastfed in a layby on the dual carriageway, in morrisons car park, in front of visitors, in a cafe (helpfully labelled breastfeeding friendy), in mothercare's feeding room after sorting another nappy leak disaster, and finally, in the school medical room today after a meeting with eldest's form tutor. There may be others i've forgotten!

Feeding- I never wake Rose. I'll happily let her sleep- 7 hours most nights. Her first bottle of the day would be around 7 ounces, less for every feed after that. Feeding has no routine, but we've fallen into a routine of sorts with sleeping. It doesn't seem to affect her in any way. Every feed is half breastmilk, half formula.
With breastfeeding I was always told on demand feeding, so carried that through to expressed/bottles.
Aimless, I've found the sizes differ from make to make, and with some pampers I have, from packet to packet!I have some 3's that are smaller than 2's. I have bought Pampers disposable swim nappies- they're huge but were reduced in Asda. Down to 50p, when I went to the till they scanned at 2p!0 -

Crabapple - Yeah i have a pillow but i find im still in an uncomfortable position and its a nightmare taking it everywhere. I think i just need to relax more which is easier said than done! Re stitches, my doctor said that they may not all dissolve as they need a good blood supply and the end ones may just work loose. Forced my OH to have a look last night and he could still see a few - they are 6 weeks old now. They dont hurt though.
Alison - I used a nursing chair in mothercares feeding room and it was really comfy. I have been looking for a second hand one but I live in NI and all the ones on the well known auction site are on the mainland. New ones are really expensive, might be cheaper to buy an armchair :rotfl:
Aimless - I thought the same with the washing but with all the additional washing im doing anyway, i havent really noticed!
Pablosmummy - Welcome, im glad LO is doing well. I was very sad to see the back of my midwives. All of them were so kind and helpful and i was in a lot of pain and was struggling with BF, i actually wanted to go and live with them!!! I blamed it on the hormones!DD born 14/12/11

Will talk to the GP soon- my 6week check will be done when she has her 8week injections.
I've finished all the medication I was given at the hospital, and they told me that unless I felt very bad, they wouldn't need to see me again.
It's only minor so not too worried, but I'm getting quite lightheaded and dizzy in the evenings now.... Also getting very cold at times.... guessing it's low bp making a reappearance maybe.0
