  • I have a shower while she's sleeping if I haven't had one when DH or DS are around. If she cries she has to wait. With DS when he was awake i put him in a boucy chair on the floor so he could hear me... that worked really well :)

i put samuel in his bouncy chair so i can watch him. dont trust him on his own as he is constantly shoving his hand down his throat and choking and then makes himself sick. im still only getting him between feeds every 3 hourly. now and again i get him to go 4 hrs but he is only drinking 4 to 5 oz a time. but he is happy and putting on weight so not stressing
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j

I wish I could shower when baby is asleep lol if I try when she's asleep and squeak's having her nap, squeak hears the shower and wakes up!

I used to put Poppy in her swing on the bathroom floor, the sound of the shower sometimes sent her to sleep and she liked watching. Now i put her in door bouncer as i know everything would be wrecked if i left her to her own devices.

Anyone got any nappy recommendations for a boy who seems to leak out of everything? Huggies somehow leak wee up the back, no idea how he does it, and Pampers leak poo out of the leg hole! Only thing I tried that is ok is the Nature Babycare ones, but I have to travel a fair bit to find them. I'm thinking of trying my reusables early, as I'm constantly washing anyway!

Seafarers wife maybe you should try hungry baby formula. I switched at 12 weeks or so, but wish I'd done it sooner. Although most babies have a growth spurt at 6 weeks so could just be temporary. Keelykat don't think 4 weeks is a usual growth spurt, but maybe if baby is two week late it would be, iykwim?
Daniel's nighttime feeding/sleeping is completely random this week. Couldn't get his ears checked at drop in, but did get hydrocortisone cream for his scalp and ears, and it looks so much better already. Hopefully I can unswaddle him soon as he just isn't sleeping well. Was awake at 11pm, 12am, fed at 1:15am, woke at 4am, 5:30am and I gave up at 6:15am and fed him again. Not sure if it is the 4 month growth spurt or just an increased appetite after his chesty cough/sore scalp/grumpy mood the last 5 days. At least he is back to his nice smiley self again.
I used to shower with Daniel in his car seat on the bathroom floor after the school run (travel system pram) before he woke up. Now put him in his cot which is the next room and wait til he's asleep.
Would LOVE him to go 7 hours sleep at night! I would wake a baby during the day to feed, but wouldn't do it at night, unless advised to. My DD was formula fed and slept all night from 6 weeks. Pity Daniel doesn't take after her!

  • Aimless I looked at a lot of reviews before choosing which brand of nappies I wanted to use. Huggies and pampers got the worst reviews, the best were lidl, also and own brand (ASDA getting best reviews for supeemarkets, lidl getting best reviews over all, but they start size 3). HTH x

We went 6 hours without a feed the other night as well, i felt so bad as i thought i had straved my baby. i woke her/dreamfeed last night after 5 hours last night. She is pooing and weeing fine so should i wait until she wakes in the night.

Again colic started around 7/8, was worse at 9 for an hour, then had a 20min feed and went off to sleep at 11, then OH took her into the loungue with him and brought her back for a feed at 3

Seems to be feeding quite a lot today, been up 3hours now, had a feed at 8 for 10mins, 20mins at 9.15 then 25mins at 12.15 now just had 25mins at 2.20,

Sounds like her 2-3 week growth spurt might be kicking in! I think LO might get hers early, due to her "healthy" size. That will be fun if she already takes about 90ml per 2 hrs.. Am dying to know what weight she is when we go to be checked on Saturday. I'm sure she is gained back a fair bit- she lost about 380g which was well inside the 10%, but gained 35g overnight in the hospital, and since then her neck has got much more plump and juicy looking, so she has def gained since then.
