I have everything crossed for you elelyn. Let us know how it goes. If its any comfort at all by 9 weeks George was also not happy being held in a cradle type position - he wanted to be upright all the time.

Thanks for the tips re finger foods (and Nutella for asking the question!). I'm terrified of the choking risk, going to see on youtube if there are any first aid videos that might help.

I'd not been told about the vitamins either, just happened to see it on a leaflet. Bit miffed with our hvs here tbh - didnt tell us about vitamins (and they know he's only bf upto now), didnt tell us about bookstart, didn't tell us about the weaning workshops they run, or the first aid course...I don't see why they bother doing all this stuff then not telling anyone about it!

Anyway, rant over, night ladies. Hope all babies sleep soundly :)

  • Thinking of you elelyn. xxxx

Rubbish night here. Stupid cough is back and think he has the sleep regression, he is nearly 8mnths. Think might go back to docs about cough.

Nutella, we give soggy toast fingers, bits of veg etc. At first nothing went in-he just messed with it. But now he has a good go on pitta breads, crumpets and teacakes. Good luck!

Have a good day all xx

  • fingerfoods -

I gave my Lo raw carrot to gum when he was teething just to get him some practice of putting things in his mouth - no rish of them chomping bits off if they have no teeth - I don't give it to him now as he has a couple of nashers..

I found some buttered toast was good to start with as he just sucked them. Rusks dissolve easy as well and if you break them in half they are easier for them to get in their mouth. Mango goes down well here and pineapple - but then we foudn the pineapple was making his skin really sore round his mouth (combined with teething rash I think) so I avoid giving him anything too acidy to munch on now).

    dunno if that helps

Thanks Ro, just typical that the two Lamaze things I want aren't reduced!

Good luck for today Elelyn, will be thinking of you.

And hope you get something prescribed for R's excema Turtle.

Hope the doc's are helpful with his cough this time Sunshine, its not been gone very long has it? I did read somewhere that a dry itchy sort of cough could be a sign of an intolerance to a food?

I'm waiting on a call back about some work then going to Sainsburys to load up on stuff to mush for G's dinners.

    Morning all

    Brrrr it's cold.
Katiechoc - what is your job? I wanted to ask you when you mentioned working at the weekend then forgot!!

Need to pop into town today to put some cheques in DP's business account so will have a look in the charity shops and grab a few bits if shopping.
I've just found out there are 2 nearly new baby sales near me in a couple of weekends so I'm hoping to get some more bits for Christmas for Noah. :D

  • Back from drs. They say his chest is clear and it must be a viral thing. I mentioned food actually katie, but dr said if its a chesty cough and at night time, its more than likely a viral thing. Apparently he has probaby picked up a couple of virals one after the other which is why it seems to have gone on for a while. She said to try a bowl of hot water in his room tonight as steam may clear it a bit?! Who knows! Think they are sick of me now, but if I am concerned I would rather they put my mind at rest than sit here worrying.

Right....I can smell something fowl from the little scamp so back later x

Elelyn have been thinking of you this morning.

I don't know if reu is going through a growth spurt or what but he is starving!!! He's feeding for ages longer than usual, and as often as every 2 hrs in the day. Or maybe he is just feeding lots in the day time to stock up for his big sleeps at night? Who knows, but any time I'm remotely near him I get the open-mouthed uh,uh,uh

Jealous of all this weaning talk....come on reu, learn to sit up so I can feed you early ;)
