Hope the fireworks have finished now Nutella? We just got back from a friends fireworks party - G wasn't really fussed so I took him inside, 2 minutes later the guy stood behind we'd been got hit in the face by a rocket! He wasn't too badly hurt, just a bit bruised but dread to think if we'd still been there.
Been on the phone to nhsdirect this evening, G's had 2 nappies with very runny poop (tmi sorry!) and blood in. Fine in himself so the doc said just keep an eye on him for now. Mil thinks it could be the kiwi I gave him yesterday as its a common allergy apparently? Will be going to docs on Monday for a checkup unless it deteriorates/doesnt improve tomorrow, in which case it'll be out of hours doc or a&e, depending.
Thanks for info re trousers!Newborn thread member

katie hope George is ok - keep us updated xx
I am taking advantage of Reu's super-sleeping and *drum roll please* I have had TWO BEERS! Daren't have any more or I'll probably fall over
The excellent sleeping has coincided with a new sleeping bag -all his others were 0-6 months and his feet hit the bottom of them (and have done for a while)....this one is 12-18 months so is MASSIVE ....perhaps the lack of space was making him uncomfortable. Or it could just be coincidence. I've typed about him sleeping...he'll probably wake up in 5 minutes... meh!
I am excited, I have just purchased my first woven wrap! We are progressing from the stretchy, I'll be going to a local sling meet where hopefully some lovely mamas will teach me how to do a back carry. Reuben loves the sling, but recently he's soooooo in to everything, he is leaning backwards all the while to try to look around (obviously looking at my face just doesn't cut it any more!) ...so time to progress from a stretchy. I'm excited but nervous... and worried I may have a sling addiction as I keep longingly looking at the ones on the FB slings FSOT group...if I win the euro on tuesday (106 million) then I am buying a didy and a girasol! :rotfl:0 -
Katie, hope George is ok. I'm no expert, but I do know that there's a lot of conflicting advice on kiwi out there - in the US the advice is to not introduce it until 8 months as it can cause an allergic reaction. Same with strawberries. I've decided to wait for a while before giving my LO any, but when you google it you'll also find plenty of people saying it's absolutely fine to give from 6 months. Weaning can be so confusing! Anyway, here's hoping all is well in the morning, will be crossing my fingers x0

Morning, chilly here too, and chucked it down all night.
George is ok, had one more nappy with a bit of blood in it first thing and just had one that was green and pretty messy but no blood so hopefully he's over the worst of it. I had no idea kiwi could be dodgy - just saw it listed on a babycentre page of good first foods, feel bad! At least he doesn't seem to have been in any pain with it.
I've got work to do today - did a job yesterday and sent it off then got a reply saying "thanks but I was thinking more along these lines..." Well why didn't you say that before I spent all my Saturday on it?!!!!!Newborn thread member

Katie, glad George is doing better. Some stuff about kiwi here (the bit called 'when can baby eat kiwi?'): www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/kiwi-baby-food-recipes.html. Says that allergic reactions to kiwi tend to be linked with reactions to papaya, pineapple and sesame seeds, so you may want to wait a bit before giving him those. Not that I'd expect you to be feeding him sesame seeds any time soon! My LO ate papaya the other day and was fine - I don't know if that means she'd probably be OK with kiwi too...? So confusing!
That's so frustrating re. work!!0 -

The last few days Noah has been getting up on his knees so I think he may be crawling soon. :j
