My DH taught Jake to drink from an open glass and it kinda followed on from there with a free flow sippy cup for out and about. He still occasionally spits it back at you especially if its not what he was expecting ;)

I bought Noah a tommee tippee beaker with handles, it says from 4 months but he still can't use it. What other beakers have you tried with Aaron?
    Xx

I have a TT beaker free flow with handles, he can lift it etc he just doesn't like the spout the same with them all, we have an avent free flow beaker, a few poundland free flow ones, a nuby non spill cup, a NUK non spill cup, a munchkin non spill cup, a tommee tippee straw cup thing, a nuby straw cup, a tommee tippee sports cap bottle thing, another cup I got from Tesco it's like a normal adult cup, and the Doidy, I'm sure I have more, I'll look tomorrow and take a pic of them all :D

  • Hello ladies

Fluff, may have to look on john lewis' website at dungarees :)

Q for anyone return/returning to work, or anyone who may know, I am returning 4 days per week with my nwd a Friday. When my holiday is worked out, I imagine it will be calculated in hours which I will have to break down into my working day; does anyone know what happens to bank holidays? I am sure my old manager worked 4 days and had to take bank holidays as annual leave? I can always ask HR when I am back but just wondered if anyone knew?

Speaking of work. I had a cry again tonight, I am still feeling awful about it. I keep telling myself I am doing it for him and it will give us a better life etc but I will.miss him so so much. OB has said when I am back we can see about reducing it to 3 days a wk, we will both be claiming childcare vouchers so dont think we can claim tax credits etc aswel? Or thats what I thought...

Anyway....might have a small glass of wine!

Wow that's a lot of beakers!!
I think the one I bought is a non spill beaker. He can't quite get used to the shape of the spout either. Might have a look online at some reviews and try him with another type.

I'd order a doidy seriously. Aaron gulps water back from it, and I struggled with everything else. They're only £3 odds from Amazon.

....erm.... so delurking a bit here. I've booked my homebirth today (35+1), can any of you lovely ladies who have had a home birth let me know anything I have to do or get to prepare?

I will be getting a pool and am aware of the perils of making sure you can get the thing full and warm in time, but all other suggestions welcome!!

    Thanks!

We got a La Bassinette pool as a kit which also had a big tarpaulin. Very happy with it. ThoughI ended up not giving birth in it as my contractions had slowed. Midwife suggested getting out for a walk around - as soon as I was out I needed to push, and Elliot arrived 10 mins later with me standing next to the pool. If I'd pushed a fraction faster I'd have managed 2.12pm on 21/1/12, didn't quite manage the full number symmetry as it was 2.15. Oh well ;)

Anyway, make sure you have clean sheets / towels around. Otherwise, pack a bag anyway, you never know - I had to transfer in afterwards. In my case, hubby forgot to pick up my hairbrush, so don't forget that. And a camera.

Gilly - just asked DP to order a doidy cup!! They have so many colours to choose from!! Have you got a cup that Aaron drinks out of if you're in the car, out for the day etc?
