Oh and we will be BLW here too even though all around us think its nonsense.
Shock horror, BLW means weaning can start AFTER 6 MONTHS, shocking ;)

I've already started teaching him how to drink...using a shot glass, with a few ml of breastmilk in of course, not vodka. It's rather cute to see him wrap his little hands around it. We will be skipping the sippy cups, or plan to anyway!

fluff I think you're only about 4 weeks behind us arent you...wait til he's teething/chewing everything and decides to see what happens when he does it to mummy...eek! ;)

Yikes! He's already clamped down with his gums on my nip once or twice and that's bad enough. Makes me shriek!

....erm.... so delurking a bit here. I've booked my homebirth today (35+1), can any of you lovely ladies who have had a home birth let me know anything I have to do or get to prepare?

I will be getting a pool and am aware of the perils of making sure you can get the thing full and warm in time, but all other suggestions welcome!!

    Thanks!

Back from Portsmouth with a newly fitted nursing bra from Debenhams - 34D! I was wearing a 36C nursing bra that was fitted at 38 weeks. I like that it gives me cleavage as it's a t-shirt style bra. :)

Have also shown off Jonathan to all the ladies at my supply agency and they loved him - one of them fed him his bottle and had lots of cuddles with him. He's now downstairs having a bottle with Daddy as he was overdue his next feed by the time I'd got home from the shops. I could do with a drink myself as I'm back on the pump as I was engorged too from not expressing in time.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    That's ambitious :)

Be warned though sippy cups are a godsend if you're out. Things can get very soggy very quickly otherwise!

Squeak (only just 2) uses open cups at home but takes a beaker for long trips, if you drive you can't keep stopping to top up an open beaker!
That's not criticism, just experience lol

I thought about a narrow plastic beaker (I think Ikea do them). It will be quite tall though and apparently it's easier if the cup's full up (makes sense) so I guess I'm going to be wasting an awful lot of water!

I'm only going to bother with a sippy cup for out and about.

Well I said planning to, doesn't mean it'll actually happen, we'll see :rotfl:

These are the shot glasses http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60081734/

Nice and thick and bouncy if dropped (that's the plan anyway!).

And also plan on getting a doidy cup.

Doidy cup is what you want. Cant ve faffed explaining but if you google youl see. The only thing A will take liquid from and its open all the way round. I have about 12 or 13 different sippy cups and none work, he wont drink from them.

I bought Noah a tommee tippee beaker with handles, it says from 4 months but he still can't use it. What other beakers have you tried with Aaron?
