  • Think I'm going to take The Turdinator swimming today for the first time. Gulp. You just chuck 'em straight in don't you? Especially when they're little. Don't they just start swimming straightaway? I'm a bit concerned about how cold he might get afterwards though. Any tips?

We have only taken A twice, both times it was baby swim and the little pool was nice and warm.
We just kind of passed him between us and let him kick and splash, we sat on the steps too and he sort of sat up and had a splash. He wasnt any colder than bath times, the hall was warm too and we took his towel in so could wrap him straight away.

Aiden just wore his baby trunks but one baby had one of those wetsuits on, I suppose that might be warmer if you had concerns?

    Have fun!! X

I haven't actually got any swimmers for him. He's just going in a swim nappy. Am I a really bad mother? :o

    Sammie, yay for pushchair!

Katie, today is indeed jumperoo delivery day! Just got a message saying it'll be delivered between 11.23 and 12.23 (love the timing) :j I think chocolate is a very appropriate substitute for a baby-related delivery :)

... Just enjoyed putting something in the new bin. Wonderful lid action.

Amara, I don't have anything useful to add to what everyone else has said, but just wanted to say that I hope you manage to fend them off for a bit longer - thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Please do stick around and chat - I like to think we're a fairly friendly bunch! x

Your OH better watch out - anything and everything found lying around is going to end up in that bin just so you get to enjoy that lid! :rotfl:

Sigh. I can't wait for a) jumperoo, and b) weaning. I still haven't had breakfast as LO is refusing to stay on her makeshift playmat (duvet with toys on it) or in her cot for more than 2 minutes, and she's outgrown her bouncer that I used to put her in to enable me to get something to eat. And in the last couple of days she's been hungry all the time (already displaying all the other 'ready for solids' signs) - waking up more frequently in the night and demanding to be fed much sooner than her usual 3 hours. I fed her the usual bottle this morning - an hour later she polished off another one! At first I didn't think her crying could possibly be hunger given that she'd just been fed, so I tried everything else, only to find that it was indeed hunger... She's 25 weeks tomorrow, so planning to do some cooking and mashing tonight and hopefully introduce her to sweet potato tomorrow! :)
