    Thanks girls.
I guess I have no choice but ignore these comments. I feed my boy on demand. Just two hours ago my DH said "tommorow I'll buy him some baby rice".

Hello :) lucky you didnt stay in hospital long!! Thats a short stay lol.

Lovely that you are having such a nice time with him. He sounds like he is doing great!!

My baby was 8lb4 and was in first size for a couple of wks too as everything else was too big, even though weight wise he shouldnt have fit in first size lol! The great debate on the sizing of babies clothes!!

OH is watching that promethius film...bit scary!! So might go to bed!.x

Did you miss the part where I was in from Thursday lol it certainly didn't feel like a short stay. x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Hope your OH is running about after you both Ikkle and you've got your feet up scoffing choc. A long labour is traumatic, I know mine was and I didn't have a C Sec. You must be sore everywhere. Glad feeding is going well for you though. Your little man is adorable xx

Amara have you been to any local support groups? (info here, your profile says you're in York http://www.nct.org.uk/branches/york/breastfeeding-support)

as gilly has already said, even early weaning is NOT advised before 17 weeks - the digestive system simply isn't developed enough - for now, try using that to put your OH off.

Do you have a supportive HV? Could you get her to do a home visit, with OH present, and prep her so that she gives him a bit of a no-nonsense talk about how your baby is too young for solids?

I'm at 19 weeks here and thinking about when we start weaning (I've already decided to wait until as close to 26 weeks as possible) - I am planning on baby led weaning (BLW) so have been researching, and one particular forum I like has a mantra "food is fun until they're one".

I know it's hard, my MIL wanted me to put cereal in a bottle for my baby at 11 weeks  she went on and on and ON and ON. She's pretty horrified that we are at 19 weeks and nothing but milk has passed his lips (oh except when he got hold of my apple the other day and licked it!!). I just smile and nod and thank her for her advice...then I leave and ignore it :D

    Ooohh fab news!! Enjoy!

In other domestic news, I need a new hoover so any recomendations ladies?

    X

We've got a Hetty, Henry's girlfriend, and I love her! The cupboard we keep her in is known as Hetty's room. Crikey. I need a life don't I???

Welcome amara, I think turtle and gilly have said it all really re feeding. I was getting the same kind of thing at about the same age as your little one - he needs to be on formula to make him sleep through the night, a bit of a rusk won't do any harm...I basically just ignored them, I think the glazed look that came over me as I repeated the same thing for the 100th time eventually got through to them. If you're happy with bfing on demand then stick to your guns. Good luck :o

Did you tell him where he could put it? :D

Or threaten to make him eat it, I had Organix which seemed quite nice, but a lot of people seem to find their baby rice pretty disgusting. :D

I was so taken with my dyson that I vacuumed every day for a fortnight. They're not cheap though. That's why I bought two :D
