Amara, my baby's 15 weeks old too and he's a big hungry, exclusively breastfed boy. He's on the boob at least 10 times a day and we're still having three to four night feeds.
There's no way I'd introduce him to solids yet. He can't sit up, he does pull things towards his mouth but it's a bit hit and miss and the only things he gets in there with any regular success are his thumbs. He's putting on weight really well and is content and smiley. I simply don't think he needs solids yet and I'm actually trying to hold out and see if we make six months.
It's up to you and bubs when you begin introducing solids. Each generation has their own ideas about weaning and it was quite fashionable to introduce solids fairly early 30 or 40 years ago. When I think about my own first food (Angel Delight) I shudder with horror about all that sugar! If you don't feel he's ready, continue with the boob exclusively. He's your baby, you know best."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
... and I guess that weaning sounds fun... but I want my baby to be a little baby a bit longer. It's all going so fast"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Angel delight! Nomnomnomnom. I'm going to sainsburys this morning now you've mentioned that! (For me, not the monkey
)
Hope you're feeling a bit better about it all this morning amara? You have to do what YOU think is right for YOUR baby. I know my OH wanted to get George on a bottle of formula at bedtime but only because he felt helpless with me being up so much in the night. Guess what I'm saying is although it can be annoying generally I think people mean well with their advice and suggestions. We started weaning early, at 21 weeks as he was hungry non stop, I was feeding him 6-7 times a night. I wouldn't have started earlier than that but now he's much more content so I think we made the right move. Every baby is different, you'll know when he's ready for solids.Newborn thread member

Is it jumperoo delivery day today Nutella? I'm feeling left out - you've got the jumperoo on its way, sammies got her pushchair. The best I can hope for is some new memory for oh to upgrade the pc with. Hardly exciting!Newborn thread member

Aw thanks sammie, yep it's the vtech walker. Was meant to be his Christmas present! He's not ready for walking or anything yet (although he has started thrusting his hips up in a slightly perverted manner now!) but he can sit there for a good 10 minutes or so playing with the rest of it, so at least by giving him it early he should get a lot of use out of it.
I'm thinking I might go to town and try and find some of this new dairy milk with Oreos in to make up for not having an exciting delivery, chocolate with cookies in? Yes please!Newborn thread member

Think I'm going to take The Turdinator swimming today for the first time. Gulp. You just chuck 'em straight in don't you? Especially when they're little. Don't they just start swimming straightaway? I'm a bit concerned about how cold he might get afterwards though. Any tips?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
