Enjoy tonight
P.s. I'm not sure why but my illusions got shattered a little when you said you were washing up?! I must have imagined you as a glam lady with someone else to do those menial tasks
I love washing up. And ironing. I don't bother with much else. I think my enthusiasm for household chores is limited to those you can do whilst listening to R4

Thanks Nutella! What have you got planned today?
The new baby group is also part of a toy library so might borrow one or two new bits for him. Hoping to get there early so there's no chance of everyone being in little groups alreadyNewborn thread member

Thanks for the advice re. amount of milk. I've got 140 mls in the fridge plus I'll probably be home not long after the OH feeds him. He normally has a feed around 10ish; I doubt I can stay out much longer than that without falling asleep! If he's refused to settle after the bottle-feed I can pop him on the booby when I'm back. One of them will be like a rock anyway in anticipation of a feed that didn't happen"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

The reason he'l feed less at the boob is over time they become mpre efficient feeders and also your milk adjusts to suit there nutritional needs (how clever
) so although he may be feeding less frequently and quicker in reality he is probably drinking more milk.
Id be inclined to leave.more smaller bottles, so maybe 3 x 3oz or whatever
that way if he only wants 6, your other 3 isnt wasted

Feeling pleased I survived the first day of DH being back at work today. Had a few disasters though. Was holding J after he'd been fed and stood up to let the cat in and J was sick all over himself, my shoulder and leg and the carpet! Both of us had to change our clothes. Then we were at the hospital for his hearing test (my Mum came too) and I was changing him after his feed, and he kicked the water bowl all over my legs as there was no other space on the changing thing to put it - I had to walk around town looking like I'd wet myself. Then this evening, he treated us to an explosive poo that stained his clothes and weed all over his hooded bath towel after his bath too.
On the plus side, he seemed to enjoy his bath this time, and I think it's cos the water was actually hot enough this time. He was nice and relaxed in his towel having cuddles with me afterwards.Managed to take a tasteful picture of him in the bath too (no private parts on show). I must work out how to upload pictures from my mobile so that I have them saved somewhere too.
Also, my furbaby was lying by the fire this evening completely ignoring J screaming, so I think he's getting used to him a bit more now. I just had lots of cuddle time with him as J is asleep, so he's feeling a bit less neglected. He's got to go back to the vet tomorrow afternoon for a check, and J has his cranio osteopathy in the morning, so a busy day again. Moon is off work though, so he can help me.
Ah so glad you survived your first day!!!!I'm the same with my cats, i give them treats and cuddle time once Charlie is in bed. Good luck for tomorrow! xDFD February 2012

Hey mozzy  how are you doing?
We went to the toy library/play group this morning, was really good and met a couple more local mums which is good. And they have so many toys to hire! Didn't get any today but next week I've got my eye on a ball pit and ball setNewborn thread member

My poor little girl seems so miserable. The infacol didn't seem to be doing much. If she's not asleep then she just cries constantly and looks like she's in pain. She's never awake and happy to lie or sit somewhere. I have to constantly be soothing her. I picked up some colief yesterday so have started on that instead and I'm going to order some MAM bottles (currently on Philips Avent).
She's also covered in whiteheads on her face, I joked that she had acne but it seems baby acne is quite common. Has anyone else any experience of it?
Also, at night she wakes at 1 after her 10ish feed, has a silly amount like 20mls then goes back to sleep then wakes again say an hour later and does the same. I don't think she's actually hungry but she won't self settle or settle with a dummy. She has to have a cuddle and a small amount of milk. Any suggestions?
Thank you!0 -
Cranio osteopathy seemed quite successful. She found that Jonathan has a lot of tension in between his shoulders and in the opposite shoulder to his bad arm, so this could be why he's uncomfortable on his side and won't latch. He seemed to really enjoy the therapy itself and was placid and chilled out the whole time. Our next appointment is on Wednesday and she said that as babies respond really quickly to treatment, we probably won't need to many sessions anyway. She had also heard of Erb's Palsy and seems to think that the therapy may help this as well as his latch and wind problems. He certainly brought up his burp after his feed a lot quicker after the treatment, so will be interesting to see how things go over the next few weeks.
J passed his hearing test with flying colours by the way, and last night we bathed him again (using water that was hot enough this time) and he really seemed to enjoy it.
Got to take furbaby to the vet this afternoon for his check-up and it looks like his bladder may be quite full again as his tummy looks like it's bulging. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, but I'm worried he may have lost the nerve connection that tells him he needs to wee. Hopefully all will be ok, but will let you know this evening. No idea what the next step is if he doesn't have the urge any more.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Sexymouse hope all goes well with your cat. How did you arrange the Cranio osteopathy? I'm thinking a few sessions might help us out too.0
