Feeling pleased I survived the first day of DH being back at work today. Had a few disasters though. Was holding J after he'd been fed and stood up to let the cat in and J was sick all over himself, my shoulder and leg and the carpet! Both of us had to change our clothes. Then we were at the hospital for his hearing test (my Mum came too) and I was changing him after his feed, and he kicked the water bowl all over my legs as there was no other space on the changing thing to put it - I had to walk around town looking like I'd wet myself. Then this evening, he treated us to an explosive poo that stained his clothes and weed all over his hooded bath towel after his bath too.

On the plus side, he seemed to enjoy his bath this time, and I think it's cos the water was actually hot enough this time. He was nice and relaxed in his towel having cuddles with me afterwards. :) Managed to take a tasteful picture of him in the bath too (no private parts on show). I must work out how to upload pictures from my mobile so that I have them saved somewhere too.

Also, my furbaby was lying by the fire this evening completely ignoring J screaming, so I think he's getting used to him a bit more now. I just had lots of cuddle time with him as J is asleep, so he's feeling a bit less neglected. He's got to go back to the vet tomorrow afternoon for a check, and J has his cranio osteopathy in the morning, so a busy day again. Moon is off work though, so he can help me.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Mine has dropped loads of lines on that stupid graph, but no-one has ever said anything to me about it, it's only me that seems interested! :D I think he's between the 25th and 50th, and started off around the 91st? I guess with his lovely chunky arms and legs, no-one could call him underweight?

Still stuck on porridge and yogurts here, he doesn't like anything else! He'll have a chew on smooth stuff like a biscotti, till it breaks, then he spits it out and throws it away. When you offer again another day, he remembers it breaks up, and just tosses it straight over the edge of the highchair. :D He does however think all yogurts are his personal possessions, such an affronted look my mum got for eating one in front of him. :D

I vaguely remember a discussion about night time toy things a while back... he's decided he's not fond of being in the car at night, and I think it's the dark? I'm off on a long trip, and thought I could get him something that glows, which one do people like? I've seen the gloworm that was reduced at Argos, but now sold out there, and a seahorse thing. Nothing too exciteable as we'll be driving. :D

Sexymouse, I walked all round town the other day, not realising when my little adorable did his 'wave hands around violently when food's coming' trick, that I'd been coated in banana porridge! It was all down the back of my jeans where I couldn't see.

Freddie's getting really mobile. Not rolling as such but he rotates on the spot and can also push himself around backwards with his legs. He was playing in his baby gym the other day whilst I was washing up when I heard strange thuds and squeals. When I went to check I discovered he'd inserted himself underneath the telly stand. I could only see his feet sticking out the bottom :(:D

Anyone got an idea of what a (big) 14 week old breastfed baby is likely to eat per feed? I'm off out tonight and I'm expressing some milk but I don't know how much Freddie usually has! When he was a few weeks old and I was expressing every other feed because lefty was so sore he'd have about 90 mls. Does he have more than that now? He doesn't spend as long on the boob and I think the milk's different now (not so watery) so perhaps he has a similar amount even though he's bigger?

    Any ideas?

  • Oo no ideas, I've been told in prep for nursery an oz for every hour you're going to be away but not sure how that relates in practice yet so will be interested to hear!

    Enjoy tonight :)

P.s. I'm not sure why but my illusions got shattered a little when you said you were washing up?! I must have imagined you as a glam lady with someone else to do those menial tasks ;)

Sorry - just delurking to say Fluff - When DS was about that age (and he was a bigger baby) I think he was probably taking round about 150mls. I'm fairly sure he was still using the smaller bottles by then. Are you able to express much? I mean as in could you leave a 5oz bottle and then maybe a 2oz in the fridge as well just in case he wants a little more. He may not take as much as that but I found it was better to leave a little extra just in case than for DS to go hungry.

Re the telly stand - my DS did that one day too - it was kinda funny - once I got over the shock of it!

Have fun for your night out. Back to lurksville - I'll hopefully be on here in january!

Fluff, my (big) formula-fed LO took 4 oz (120 ml) per feed at that age. She'd have that every 3 hours. She started taking 5 oz (150 ml) a couple of weeks later, so if Freddie's of the hungry kind, you might need a bit more x

I've no idea I'm afraid fluff, G won't even take a bottle of expressed at all. He's clearly a boob man! He did however enjoy covering himself in butternut squash last night. Who knew a vegetable could be so sticky?

Pretty good night for us so feeling relatively awake at the moment (sure it won't last). I'm trying a new baby group this morning so awake is good!

Did you get your cake done sammie? Happy birthday to your little man!

Katie, glad you had a good night - enjoy baby group! Butternut squash sounds like fun :)

My LO spent most of the night rolling around in her cot - she just won't stop! She's trying to crawl and gets frustrated when she can't do it, but as long as she's just rolling she's happy...
