Hi everyone, I had my daughter Eliza 12 days ago. I have been lurking and occasionally posting on the pregnancy thread, but as I don't really belong there any more I thought I'd better head this way. Eliza is a tiny thing, she weighed 5lb 6.5ozs, so she's been feeding little and often. This has meant not much sleep for me, but she's definitely worth it :)

  • Morning all

Well Aiden woke at 5 and just wanted to play! Ended up feeding him and putting him in with us, eventually fell asleep at 6 only to wale at 650. Not as bad as some nights we have had but I still feel shattered. Think I will have to have a nap later with him.

Freezing here this morn so off fo put heating on. Hope all.slept well x

Thanks Ro. We didactually try elevating the cot last night (she was in special care for 6 daysand the cot was always elevated) but she kept sliding down so I would find herin a heap at the bottom! That soundslike we had it at huge angle but we really didn’t!

I think we struggle to settle her in the day as the mosesbasket has a cold mattress. At night shehas a sleeping bag so probably doesn’t notice it. She settles better in her carrycot so think Imight try that.

Thanks Laura, will stock up in Wilkos if it startsworking. I think I have noticed a bit ofa difference. She woke a lot in thenight last night. I don’t even think sheis hungry, she has just got used to waking every 2 ½-3 hours.

  • Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I joined this thread instead of lurking! My little boy jack is 5 weeks today. I think we're slowly starting to get the hang of things but its not easy and things like this thread definitely help.

I don't think you ever really realise how much everything will change- yesterday I went to the shop without make up and didn't even realise. There is no way that would have happened 5 weeks ago! :D

Congratulations to the new mummies!! There is a list somewhere if you want o add yourselves, I would do it but every time I touch the list it goes wrong!!

Sunshine - I put the heating on this morning too, it's definitely getting chilly first thing now.

It's my ds1's birthday tomorrow so I'm considering baking a cake instead of buying one. If I bake it late tonight do you all think it will still be really fresh for tomorrow after school? I won't have much time tomorrow as its my nans birthday too so will be out visiting her for a bit.

Hello :) all these new babies make me feel so broody!!

Hope your ds has a lovely bday. I would make the cake today. My dad is an amazing cake maker and always does a day in advance, what were you thinking of making? Id say as long as it isnt too dry you are good to go.

Were going into town as soon as Aiden wakes up. Typical its raining though!
