Silly Moo, I think it took about two weeks for them to return the birth certificate with a letter confirming the amount we'd get - they then paid pretty soon after that. Might be worth giving them a call to chase. I sent our application as recorded delivery, but they post it back as normal second class.

On nappies - my LO's quite long AND wide... We haven't used Little Angels, but did find that Pampers New Baby size 2 and Active Fit size 3 leaked once we were approaching the top end of the weight recommendation. We switched to Pampers Baby-Dry and have had no leaks - but again we had to switch from size 3 to 4 once she hit 16 lbs even though size 3 is meant to go up to 20 lbs. So it could be that you need to go up to size 4 even though he's only 13lbs-something?...

    Sammie, yay for tooth! :j

Katie, hope George starts sleeping better soon and that a bit of solids helps - it sounds exhausting at the moment... :(

I want to get a steamer for weaning - can anyone recommend one? I think I'd like one that goes in the microwave.

Thanks Nutella. We sent our form in the envelope provided. I wanted to send it recorded delivery but hubby said there's no need to do that :(

Re nappies - I'll give Little Angels a go. Pampers size 3 go up to 15lb and Little Angels size 3 go up to 20lb so hopefully we will be ok and if not will try size 4. They had Pampers Baby-Dry at the Special Care Baby Unit and B had a reaction to them, although he was 5 days old then so possibly isn't so sensitive now.

Hi, we had a super duper tefal steamer as an engagement gift and in the end I bought an argos value 3 tier electric one as the other held hardly any vedge. Not sure re micro ones but def get a 3 tier as you can do loads of diff types of veg in one go. x

It's only the Pampers New Baby size 3 that go up to 15 lbs. Both the Baby-Dry size 3 and Active Fit size 3 go up to 20 lbs.

If brown eyes are dominant, it means you only need one brown eye gene to get them. So you may have one brown and one blue gene, and have passed on the blue one to Poppy. If your other half has blue eyes, he'd have to have two blue genes, so definitely passed on a blue one.

Thanks aimless thats exactly what I was trying to say. heh.

Well George really doesn't like baby rice! I don't think he swallowed more than a couple of ml, just dribbled it all over himself. I did one spoon of rice to 10 spoons of expressed milk and it was really really watery, does that sound right to you ladies in the know? I think he was probably too tired really, will try again tomorrow.

Had a good time at baby group, they're big on baby sensory at the moment and had a big tray of cold mashed spud to play in - g thought it was fun until he got some in his mouth! And we dipped their little feet in paint and made footprints, so cute!

    Hey Ladies!

Yay for Noah's first tooth Sammie - I keep checking but nothing yet!

Katie - I wouldn't worry if George didn't take to much on his first attempt, Poppy hardly took anything and didn't seem to realise she had to open her mouth, I can honestly say it took a good few weeks until she was taking any more than a few spoonfulls!

Left Poppy with my Mum today for a few hours and did some shopping and jobs! I was worried but apparently she was fine, laughing and happy so that made me feel better!

Got some new stuff for work from Next, some nice new shoes and a dress. I tried the shoes on and could hardly walk in them! I haven't worn heels since before being pregnant! I best get practising!

    xx

For those about to start weaning - HIPP just sent me this weaning chart, which I quite like: www.hipp.co.uk/uploads/documents/expert%20advice/weaning-chart.pdf. It's obviously a shameless attempt at promoting their products, but I thought the week-by-week information looked useful :)
