Jannine - glad Poppy had a good time at your mum's, and yay for new clothes and shoes (but hope you don't fall over)! I can't wait to go on a clothes shopping spree in January0

Katiechoc - baby group sounds fun!! Don't worry about George not taking much food it's perfectly normal Noah took a few weeks to get the hang if it but he never really took to baby rice so I moved him straight onto veg/fruit.
Jannine - glad poppy had a nice time at your mums!Gosh heels, those were the days!!
Well I have officially stuck my finger in Noah's mouth about 100 times today feeling his tooth!!I have rubbed some bonjela on his gums tonight as I don't think the tooth is fully through so hopefully it will help, although I must say he hasn't made a fuss about it so far that's why I was so surprised he had one!

A few weeks before he eats it properly  I need his tummy full enough for a decent nights sleep now!!!!
Re steamers, we had a tesco value one a while ago which worked really well but I found the trays really fiddly to wash up, now we've got an old school pan steamer which is much easier.
I'm getting an early night tonight, feeding him now so hopefully will get an hour or two before he's up again. Night all.Newborn thread member

Jannine, glad Poppy was ok. I need to get some new work clothes too, saw some lodvely bits in matalan actually. Roll on payday
Katie, it took Aiden weeks to take anything more than a few spoons too. So dont worry. I found the mixing directions for baby rice watery too so used to add a bit more rice. Like Sammie I swapped to veg pretty soon after, I used baby rice to thicken veg if I had made it a bit too sloppy.
On the food front, been to my mums for tea as its my nieces birthdaygave Aiden some salmon, potato and brocolli before we left and then at my mums he was really sick, last time he had fish - in a fish pie, he was sick afterwards. The first time was just before his cough/cold started and this could just be the tail end of his cold but I am worried he has a fish allergy?! So not giving him anymore now for a while.
Hope babies sleep well xxxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Jake thinks its hilarious to bite my nipple as I start to feed him. Previously he's do it if I annoyed him just prior to feeding him but today it was every flippin feed and multiple times the first feed. My nipples are very sore, and he just laughs at me when I say OWWW! and pull away from him. Maybe I should stop playing with him by (gently) biting his fingers, I thought maybe it'd make him realise that biting hurts but I'm probably not biting hard enough and just making it a game. I'm dreading the top teeth coming through, its painful enough with just the bottom two.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

I have a question on mobiles. How long did you use yours? We're 10 wks today and I don't know if it's worth getting one now. We're doing fine without it but sometimes when B is awake and I want to have a shower I feel guilty about leaving him in his cot with nothing to do.0

Thanks sunshine, think ill make it a bit thicker next time. Poor Aiden, hope he's feeling better after the sickness.
Silly moo - we still use our mobile now (21 weeks). Mainly for when I have to put him in his cot while I get a shower or Hoover or something. If he's really struggling to get to sleep I put it on too.
I'm on the third feed of the night, my eyes are closing as I'm typing!Newborn thread member

My LO is 21-ish weeks, and I expect we'll be using ours for quite a while longer. She can now reach the animals hanging from it, so we need to lower the cot mattress before she breaks something (the mattress is currently at the highest level out of three), but once we've done that I see no reason to stop using it before she can pull herself up. It enables me to have a shower and get the upstairs hoovering doneOurs has a detachable music box, which she can play with once she's too big for the 'proper' mobile - not sure if all mobiles do...?

Katie, how was your night? Hope things calmed down after that third feed...0

Katie, hope you had at least a few hrs sleep in the end?
We were up twice here, had to give him some nurofen - really dont think fish agrees with him!
We still have a mobile up, lowered cot at weekend so he cannot reach it now. Will keep it until he doesnt seem fussed with it anymore I think.
Going to start a xmas list for Aiden, all my mums family are asking for ideas so thought we would just do him a list and they can pick off there.
Have a good day all
