I can't believe how organised you all are - ready for Christmas already!!!!

If it makes you feel better... I don't have a single Christmas present yet! :o Glad George is feeling better - hope you had a good night's sleep.
  • Hi I was hoping that some of you on here could help me, I'm going to be an auntie at the end of the year and I've been buying a few things for baby and I wanted to buy some clothes. So far all I've bought are clothes for 3-6 months, I want to buy some for 0-3 but baby will be nearly a month old before I get to meet her and get the clothes to her so thought it was a waste of time getting this size. What would you recommened I buy clothes wise mostly been buying sleepsuits and body vests. Also what were the best/most useful and worst/least useful presents you received when you had your baby?

    Thanks

Most useful present was given by one of my friends and was a homemade hamper of all the stuff she found useful from 0-1yr with her little one. been a godsend in the middle of the night when we've suddenly decided we need some bonjela/calpol etc. She put nail clippers, bath stuff, infacol, calpol, tixylix, weaning bowls spoons and cup, muslins, dummies, toothpaste and a lot more.

will second the need to bibs and blankets, we really liked sleepsuits too and toys are good as they do last a bit longer and you always think of the person who gave them when they play with them.

    Hey ladies

I wondered if you could help out with a question about carseats. I currently have the Pebble with a Familyfix base and want to buy the Pearl as the next step up (my LO is only 15 weeks, but already 16 and a half pounds with no signs of slowing on the feeding/growing front!). Mothercare have it reduced to 139.99 at the mo. Anyone seen it any cheaper?

    Cheers

Its £140 at boots too and youd get £14 back in points, there are always christmas shopping events in october too where you can get.double points or.extra. I think thr pearl is forward facing which regardless of weight they dont recommend before 9 months so you have a wee while yet. xx

  • Elliot's definitely known his name since about 7 months. If we say 'where's Mum' or 'where's Dad' he'll now turn towards the right person. Not 100% of the time, but enough to know it's not just random!

His second toe is longer than his big toe. Hubby's is the same, so maybe he'll have hubby's feet :)

Elliot nearly didn't have a toe after last night. When he poo'd at 9pm he was already in his bedtime nappy and sleepsuit, usually he'd have been in that until 7.30ish the next morning. We went to change the nappy and realised one of my hairs had wrapped itself so tightly around a toe that it was cutting off circulation!!! We cut it off and the toe went back to a normal colour, but there's a nasty red line around the toe now. Looks clean though, no infection, so we're just keeping an eye on it for now. If it had been there until this morning it would have been so much worse.
  • Gosh, so many poorly babies :( sending get well (or at least let your mum sleep a bit!) vibes to all who need them!

Just arranged to go to stay with family next week, wed to sat, can't wait :T it's my sister, her 4 kids, my nan, and also a good friend from school lives nearby too. None of them have met Reuben yet so I'm really looking forward to showing him off and him getting lots of fuss :p also think a little time apart would be good for me and OH.
  • Hey
Haven't been on for a while been very busy. Had some really difficult days with Niall nd his wind, one day the only way he would sleep was in an upright position due to the pain.mso in baby sling or laying on me. Also have had mastitis and a cold boo hoo but feeling better now. Oh is off today so more hands to help.

Just feeding for first time without nipple sheild:T hope it continues.

Managed to rugby ball feed Niall and express and got 65ml in one go:) thanks for tip turtle.

Niall 7 weeks tomorrow and things feeling a bit easier. He went 5 hours and 3 hours last night.

    Evening all

Turtlemoose - I bet your family can't wait to meet Reuben!!

Dp has gone out this evening so I'm browsing eBay for bargains!! Looking at activity tables for Noah's Christmas present but there isn't one nearby at the moment but will keep checking. Noah is in his jumperoo and the boys are playing Lego in their bedroom so I'm having a cup of tea and enjoying the peace and quiet!!!
