  • Turtle, don't talk about bitey things. Spent £40 on flea treatment today because we just can't seem to get them under control yet... though I think it's getting better as I haven't been bitten in a couple of weeks. Hubby is home blitzing the house today.

Had a bad night with the snot baby waking up every hour again for feeds. I'm not sure he's even hungry, I think it's just reassurance because he's waking up coughing and needs help getting back to sleep.

Went Swishing earlier - they were having a clothes swap session near where I work. There wasn't much to choose from in my size, but I've been brave and picked up a few things I'd never normally wear. Don't know if they fit yet though! I could really do with updating my wardrobe as most of it is from when I was a student (graduated 2007...), and I would like to look a bit smarter for my job.

I've just googled the chair too!! :D they look great!

I've never heard of them before though how long have they been around for?
    Xx

Apparently they're celebrating their 40th anniversary this year! I'll be 34 next month and was given mine for my 1st birthday - it's still going strong after all these years :)
  • Nutella are those chairs comfy? They don't look like they are. Did you use yours while doing homework etc at a desk? Wouldn't a swivel chair (office type) be much more comfortable for a school child? I'm thinking ahead here as he's only 9 wks old :D

I've to say this forum is not very MSE - I just keep seeing new things I want to buy!

It is indeed a dangerous place - it's so easy to justify buying stuff because 'it's for the baby'... :o

There is a bitey thingy in my house. I haven't seen it, so I don't know what, but I have got 12 bites on my legs and feet, so I am itching like a crazy lady!!!

If it's just gone for your feet and lower legs, it sounds like a flea. This year's been terrible for them, apparently. Do you have any pets?

  • I do have a cat, but she's a [STRIKE]fraidycat[/STRIKE] housecat and doesn't ever go outside.

I'm just too tasty, obviously :rotfl:

It's worth keeping an eye on things though, turtle. Fleas have been mental this year apparently. It only takes one to jump on you randomly whilst you're out and about, then for you to bring it into the house, it finds the cat, hallelujah. A few weeks later, thousands of the buggers.

TBH, bites on the feet/ankles sounds exactly like cat fleas. Are the bites small red dots with minimal swelling, i.e. less than you'd expect with, say, a mosquito, and very itchy?

We had some earlier in the year. When I had Freddie I neglected to treat the cat for a few weeks and was a bit lax with the hoovering too. We ended up with fleas :(

On a brighter note, now that they're all gone I've been happy to buy Freddie a baby gym (didn't want him on the floor before). I've bought this one. Can't wait for it to arrive :D

Our cat picked up fleas, I suspect, when the neighbours house was cleared out. Apparently it was full of fleas... and lucky us they decided to move into ours instead. I had a ring of bites just above my sock, SOOOO itchy. :(

I have a big delivery of 12-18 month tops ready for unwrapping when i get home. Baby clothes shopping is fun, but I'm doing my best to only buy really good bargains :) I have a list for clothes now, so I know what we need for the next stage, and what we've already got. I think all we need for 12-18 now is some short sleeved vest tops, but looking at second hand ebay prices by the time I've paid postage we might as well get new ones. Oh, and we'll need shoes too, but we'll have to get him properly measured first. I have wide feet and hubby has narrow feet, so it'd be useful if we managed to have a baby iwth average size feet....

I don't think it works like that, unfortunately! He'll either have your feet, or your husband's feet. Although you can get throwbacks I guess. F has got these really weird mutant middle toes. And he sure didn't get them from me or the OH!

Fluffnutter - I expect Freddie will love the gym once it arrives :D Noah used to love his, now he just pulls the toys really hard or rolls away because he is bored! :( I want my tiny baby back!!

Selling some baby bits and my old I phone on eBay so hoping to make some money for Christmas! Can't believe we are nearly in October already!!

Just thought we are all going to have to post pics of our little ones dressed up for Halloween!!! :D
