Well I've just flea treated the cat, and hoovered. (carpets not cat) I hardly ever touch the cat since having Reuben, she either avoids me or I'm too busy, but anyway when I grabbed her to do the treatment, I could feel scabs around her neck....so bluebell looks like we're infested too...great fun
I am sorted for Xmas for Reuben, got one of those things you put balls in the top and they spiral down and play a song, and 6 x different ELC toys that rattle/play noises/flashy lights etc - £11 off eBay for that lot. Also got a v tech walker (same one gilly has) for £4 from a charity shop. Job done, he'll only be 6.5 months so I'm a humbug and don't see the point spending any more!! I'm sure he'll get plenty from mine and OH families.
I've taken to clothes shopping in charity shops for him (I have done for years for myself!). Some places are grotty and put stuff like stained vests in, yuck, but I've had some lovely mothercare, next, debenhams, gap etc stuff for as little as 50p an item. Got some NEW vests for 20p each!!! :T0 -
Turtlemoose - I'm the same, I have found some right bargains in charity shops. Noah is in 3-6 month clothes at the moment but I have been stocking up on 6-9 months when I have seen something I liked in charity shops/eBay/carboot sales.
I want to get Noah an activity table for Christmas so I'm keeping an eye out on eBay.

When do babies learn their own name? I keep saying 'Freddie!' to Freddie but he just looks at me with the dull gleam of idiocy in his eyes. Even the cat knows his own name."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Nutella are those chairs comfy? They don't look like they are. Did you use yours while doing homework etc at a desk? Wouldn't a swivel chair (office type) be much more comfortable for a school child? I'm thinking ahead here as he's only 9 wks old
Nothing wrong with thinking ahead - we opened a university savings account for our little girl when she was 3 weeks old!
I'd say they're as comfortable as wooden chairs will ever get, but must admit I've never sat on one for hours. Mine lived in the kitchen, so was used at mealtimes and for homework when I was little, but once I morphed into a teenager I started doing my homework in my bedroom and had an office-type chair there. Still used the chair at mealtimes though.0 -
Fluffnutter - I expect Freddie will love the gym once it arrives
Noah used to love his, now he just pulls the toys really hard or rolls away because he is bored!
Fluff, I like that gym! Might just have a little bit to do with my love of giraffes...My LO used to love hers too, and it was a great place to put her down so I could have some lunch etc. but she's too big for it now and just rolls off it. We still use the toys though and attach them to the car seat and/or the pram as she likes playing with them.

Good thinking about the toys! Why didn't I think of that!!
