LO is in 6-9 clothes today - she was 4 months on Tuesday! I can't keep up!* Am washing the rest of the 6-9 stuff now, and then it's all change for her wardrobe again...
*But on a positive note, this means I can now start shopping for 9-12!Already have a lovely winter coat from when Sainsbury's had their 25% off clothing offer.
My little one is the same, four and a half months and in his six to nine, I have his winter coat for this year and next year already oops :rotfl:0 -
Another one here, J is just 5 months and already in 6-9 and I am ashamed to admit he doesnt just own one coat he owns six (!) well he has a nice thick furry camo coat, a lovely tweed duffle coat, a knitted coat with chunky buttons, a nylon rain jammer, a nylon with fleece liner rain coat, and a heavier than normal lined hoodie tracksuit top. In my defense we live in Wales and you just never know what the weather is going to do
Oh and he also has three already for 9-12...:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
I too have boxes of clothes for D until she is 18 months old (shes not even 6 months old yet) and in fact is small and so is still fitting in mainly 0-3! But in my defence some of them we have been given....
like safesound i am in Wales and our weather is a bit rubbish so thats definately to blame!0 -
Thats my excuses made and I'm sticking to them!
Also congrats Turtle xxx0 -
Evening all, been awol again, apologies. I honestly do not know where time goes these days.
Very annoyed at OH tonight, I'm sick of feeling like a maid around these parts, I sometimes feel like that's all I'm good for and it's getting me down.
Picked up my glasses todayfeels so strange wearing them but so weird to see everything so clearly. Just trying to get used to them at the moment.
Congratulations again Turtle, really pleased for youxx

Morning ladies
Up at 630 here, wish he would sleep till 7, half an hour would make all the difference!
Gilly, hope you sort things out with your oh. It isn't nice to feel unappreciated.
Hope everyone has good days. We are trying to decide what to do, I want to go to town but oh just wants to go to the local retail park. I will win though

Pickles is somewhere between 6-9 and 9-12, it depends on the shop really, Squeak (now 2) was in 9-12 months in sainsburys clothes until she was 18 months
Pickles and Squeak have been away with OH for the last few days and I've been missing them like mad. The babies that is :rotfl: Things have been a little bit strained around here as well just lately!
Turtle what a fantastic outcome
I'm trying to persuade OH to let me keep the 2 kittens we've got left... He'll come back from holiday to find I've bought them collars which should hopefully be a pretty big hint :rotfl:
Its lovely and sunny here this morning, my older 3 are off out so I'll have a good chunk of time to myselfI'll have to spend it tidying though otherwise OH will b!tch when he gets back later
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Thanks for advice re pumping, I managed 40ml last night which is nearly an ounce, I just thought you wud get more.
I will be away from Niall for bout 3hour next Sunday and have no idea how much milk I will need to leave with dh for this time. Niall might feed twice in that time. Any ideas?
Can't manage the rugby ball pos and express, Niall is long and difficult to position.
Heading down to local school car boot in a bit to see if there is any baby stuff we want.
Enjoy your weekends ladies,

Laura it may be worth buying a carton of ready made formula? Just for a backup. If you feed Niall just before you leave then maybe he'll only need one feed! I know some people are really against formula, I guess I'm used to it now with the top ups.
I'm going to try my new pump this afternoon. I had one and looked on YouTube for a demo video and it seemed you could see the pump 'sucking' the nipple but mine didn't seem to. So now I have a new medela mini electric one and a manual one. I will wait until I'm feeding Zachary and when he cries I leak etc. OH will be home then to assist with juggling baby and the pump etc.
Can I just ask how long does breast keep in the fridge and/or are people freezing it?:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Jedi the advice on kellymom is around an oz an hour. Some will take less, some more. Through experience being away from him all this week, I know my boy is more 1.5 oz per hour. By mine is older than yours (although BF babies have been shown that the quantity stays the same until around 6 months, it's the content that changes - how clever!) I always try to leave enough, plus a little spare.
So for 3 hours, maybe two feeds of 2 oz, with an extra oz spare just in case.
Don't forget how much of BFing is about emotions/hormones. If you are sitting there thinking "oh god, I have to express, what if I don't get enough, oh dear"....then you are unlikely to get anything.
In my early expressing days (the first 10 days of R's life! Pumping is how I established my supply in the first place!) I found that taking up to ten minutes preparation time, while frustrating cuz time is so precious and hard to find at that age, was worth it because I would get much better pumping output in a quicker time.
Set the mood. Scented candles if that's your thing. No tv. Relaxing music. Massage your breasts, think about your baby, your OH, how lovely your baby smells, how gorgeous they are when relaxed and sleeping, do all those things until you feel your body give you a nice dose of oxytocin. You know you've done it because it's the same "warm fuzzy" feeling you get when you have a nice cuddle (or after an orgasm!).
It sounds like hippy nonsense, or I certainly thought so anyway when I was told it! But it does work.
LMM you can keep it in the fridge for 5 days (some sources say 7 but I'd rather err on the side of caution) at 4 degrees or less. Keep it towards the back of the fridge as that's where the temp is most constant. Freezer is up to 6 months at -18 degrees.0
