Safesound, if they've suspended him while he's handing in his notice don't they still have to pay him until he leaves? So he can be a house husband instead until the next job starts?
Pretty much
They also tried to tell him he needed to give 7 weeks notice until he said he was happy to stay home and be paid for the whole period. They then decided they needed to look into it some more:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
Great news turtle - look forward to hearing the rest of the results when you post them. Fingers crossed for you still. xxEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Turtle, yay!! So happy for you - looking forward to hearing more.
Bluebell, am loving the picture! No wonder he wants to eat the fireplace - it's so nice and shiny!
Safesound, hope Jake feels better soon. My LO's had a cold too for the last 24 hours - seems to be the season for them. Will he sleep on his side at all? Once I put my LO on her side, she fell asleep immediately after wriggling and stirring on her back for ages - seems like she's finding it easier to breathe when lying on her side. I'm also finding that she complains a lot less when I wipe her nose with a wet wipe rather than a tissue...0 -
Finally sorted through my wardrobe and the under-bed storage boxes, packed away all the maternity stuff and lugged several bags to the charity shop :j
The bad news is that after spending most of the past two winters in Africa, it appears I don't really own any winter clothes! I have tons of scarves and gloves and one very warm cardigan, but that's it! Just ordered a parka from Tesco - figured I need something warm and wind-proof with a hoodie for a winter of pram-pushing... Don't really want to buy anything else until I've lost some more weight - layers might just be the way to go for the time being...0 -

He's been rolling onto his side for a few weeks as it seems to help with the teething pain but recently he's learned to roll onto his tummy so tends to do that in his sleep if he starts off on his side, problem is he is great at getting onto his tummy but not so great at getting back so when he wakes up with his face in the mattress he panics and cries.
I was avoiding using wet wipes as I didnt want to give him a rash from overuse but I suppose I could compromise and buy some wet toilet tissues. I'm going to try and put some lanolin on his face when he wakes up (he's gone down again just now) so he doesn't end up too sore.:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -

Are you sure the toilet tissues will be any kinder to his skin than the wipes? I would have thought that baby wipes, particularly the ones for sensitive skin would be less likely to cause irritation than toilet wipes. Great news turtle, how did the rest of the afternoon go?
Hope everyone's ok, I've had a quick read back but I seem to have less time to myself here with the in laws to help look after georgethan when I'm home alone! Mil and I just gave him a bath together, she loved it. She took him for a walk in the pram this morning though and he screamed all the way home  I can hear him howling upstairs now. Going to keep a low profile and let oh deal with it for a bit.
Last night here then off to my mums tomorrow, can't wait!Newborn thread member

Well I just want to say thanks to everyone for the support. I've had one of the most stressful weeks ever, and so glad to be at the end of it.
I can now talk about it properly as there was no confidentiality agreement - its all a matter of public record.
Basically I lost the like work on witness evidence - they decided to take the word of a witness who has previously been an MD, holds a national role etc - they pretty much decided that his word was good and went with it....even he I know he wasn't telling the truthbut it's one of those things, what can you do.
The other stuff, they were ruled to have committed 4 acts of sexual discrimination. In 3 separate instance there were job opportunities that I was denied the chance to apply/interview for. They ruled each of those instances was due to my gender. The final was I was excluded from a national pay rise in October, when I asked about it I was told it was because I got a fuel card - but I named 6 men who got a fuel card AND got the pay rise too...so it was ruled to be because of my gender.
It means I am guaranteed some kind of compensation, but I don't find out how much until the 26th November.
I also got paid my contractual maternity pay (£3792) - which vcovers the cost of my solicitors and gives me £42 spare...shame I've lost most of it in legal fees, BUT the most important part is moving forward, that maternity pay (50% of avg weekly pay for 11 weeks IN ADDITION TO SMP) and also a very generous (and uncapped) redundancy clause - they are both in my contract so I have that secure moving forward.
I also get my pay rise backdated to oct 2911, comes to £770 and also more mat pay (as the 90% should have been slighter higher if I had had the pay rise) at £92.20. Both of some are taxable though, whereas the £3k thing isn't taxable, and the award in November won't be taxable either.
There is one oer thing though, and this part it worth more than any financial award....for EVERY new contract my employer applies for, they HAVE to disclose that they lost a tribunal for sexual discrimination. That knowledge makes me warm and fuzzy inside :rotfl:0 -

:rotfl:LOL - just what they deserve!
I'm so, so pleased for you - although bet you'll have a bit of a nervous wait for 26th November! I hope you have something nice planned for this weekend - put your feet up, have lots of cuddles with Reuben and give yourself a pat on the back for standing your ground. Big well done and congratulations0 -
So happy for you turtlemoose shame a lot of the money has gone on legal fees, but the satisfaction of winning must be great! Hope you can enjoy your weekend after all the stress xx:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j
